Ive never had a desire to go stand in the freezing cold with way too many other people and watch a ball drop. Now ... maybe standing in a hotel room with a few people I like overlooking all the people standing in the freezing cold watching a ball drop might be ok ..... :)

I totally agree....way to many people.

Happy New Year everyone. Wow did my husband pay the price for a fun NYE night........I don't know if I've ever seen him that bad before.

Still waiting on the daughter's baby to arrive. Daughter's BD is today (23) and she's been having contractions all week, but still no baby. He's being a little stubborn so he must be a boy!

If she doesn't go on her own this weekend they will induce her Monday. She's having a lot of back labor so she's in a lot of pain. There is little worse than watching your kids in pain and there's nothing you can do. She said over a month ago that she thought she would try and go natural. Hahaha! I bet that's not the case after this past week. Hello epidural! :biggrinjester:

The party was fun, but I must be getting old because I just don't see what fun it is to stay up until the wee hours of the morning. I don't mind that in the summer here and there, but that's it for me.

Rob's better today. He left the house to work at 6:30 this morning and has had a busy morning but that's not a bad thing.

Speakin of backed up roads, I started out driving to our other office in Marion and just turned around and came back to my own office. Its kinda a white out out there :ack2: Cant believe how fast this stuff is coming down. Yuck!

BB ... any idea what the hold up was down there? Is that heavy of traffic normal?

We were told that it was a bad accident involving two motorcycles, will find out tomorrow when the paper comes out.

Mornin all, now I hope I'm over this cold thing. Spend all day yesterday in bed, slept for ever, feel better now, but I said that before. Sunday my niece and her boyfriend were to fly out of Key West we drove down about 2 1/2 hours before he flight and ran in to a big back up around mm 14. Sat in the traffic until their plane took off and then drove them to Miami.

That sucks man. I had the flu earlier this year and it was horrible. Friends of my Dad's down there in South FL got laid up in bed for days like you did, I think it took them a week or so to get back to normal.

Happy New Year's everyone,

Barb congratulations, he is BEAUTIFUL, I can't believe he is only a few days old in that picture. I take it your daughter lives in Columbus, how far of a drive is that for you, I bet you will be making it a lot.

Thanks Donna. They live 2.5 hours away. I won't be making the trip too often presently due to work travel. I leave Jan 16 for Florida, return Jan 22, home a week then off to Vegas for a week, home again another week and back out one more week after that. I'll squeeze it in as often as I can. I know the kids and they'll be making a road trip in a few weeks, just to get out of the house.

Sometimes. I can sometimes add days on or after that the company will pick up, Rob can sometimes attend with me, stuff like that. I don't golf anymore (since I took up boating...impossible to do both and keep the golf numbers in tact) so unless it's laying around by the pool (which I love), I just work.

Trade shows are tough. It's all day in the booth and entertaining customers with dinner at night. I'd rather do training than tradeshows.

Funny you should ask I am eating it right now. I made huge and I mean huge amounts of homemade vegetable soup and chicken noddle soup on Christmas day and froze a lot of it. I prefer the chicken soup but the veggie soup is healthier and less calories, so yesterday I had the bright idea to mix the two together, it tasted good so that's what I am eating now:26:

I know what you mean about pizza, it's one of my favorites foods, right up there with bacon, and fresh loaves of crispy Italian bread. We had pizza on Sunday night, Ian had three pieces, but I had four !!!! and there was one left. I swear I could have eaten the last piece right there standing by the sink while I was cleaning up. Knowing Ian does not eat left over pizza, before I could change my mind I hurried up and stuffed it down the garbage disposal. Willpower is not in my vocabulary:(

There was no way we could get under there, we had treats and kept calling her to no avail. I worry about accidents with Ian, he drives fast no matter what the conditions are, he's a good driver but not everyone else is and you hear about so many things, a few days ago on I 75 on Ian's way home from work a guy pulled off the expressway to change a flat and someone smashed into him, killing him and ripping him to shreds, several of the guys that left work ahead of Ian saw the accident and the mangled body. A friends 19 yr old niece came to live with her and attend college, it was a Sunday evening and raining, she went to meet a friend to study and decided to take side roads and not the freeway because of the rain. Well someone ran a stop sign and killed her. Oh and RG when Ian was about 18 he went Windsor to drink because it was legal there, he was driving on a curve and missed it and smashed into someones house, it was a small house and he said he knocked if off it's foundation. He was lucky he or no one else was hurt.

I am not sure if I told everyone that he got a motor cycle this summer. He started wanting it the year before and I pretty much put my foot down and said no, I even told him it would put our marriage in serious trouble if he did. Well he did not say much more about it and then one day this summer he came home with a new bike, I was so mad I started throwing his beer cans out the front door at him and his friend. I came very close to knocking the bike over. We did not speak for a while, but I really did not know what to do, I swear I was so angry that if we would have sold our house I might be single now. It's the first thing that I really told him he could not have but it did not matter. His excuse was he was saving money since he rode it to work. He rides well, but it's not him I worry about, it's the bozos that don't know how to drive around motorcycles, or the drivers on cell phones and even texting while driving that I worry about, plus he goes to work a lot when it is still dark, and then sometimes it winds up raining and the roads are slick. I get pizzed just typing about it.

Racegirl3
01-08-2009, 01:35 PM

Even better my daughter's school work is due Friday so she won't leave before that and her state testing is Monday morning. I'll be pulling a trailer so my wife won't drive.

Lots of blowing and drifting .... my average speed was about 40 instead of my normal average of 70 :D

You know ... yesterday was a pretty good day ... The boss and I have been working on getting this really big project and if it pans out will keep us busy for a few months ... maybe even overtime ... which is a God send since we are talking cutting hours or lay offs. Boss told them it would be no problem then he came over to make sure I said it was no problem :D Its no problem. Huge, huge project but it will be fun. Cap’n Crunch Crunch Berries A Cap’n Crunch Crunch Berries version of the cereal was created in 1967 and also contained spherical pieces in red, intended to represent berries, and a mascot was introduced called the Crunch Berry Beast. In the ’90s, additional colors of the Crunchberries [blue, purple, green] were added to the mix. All are flavored the same, regardless of color.

It is not a Maverick. The front end of that green car is blocking part of the rear and making it look like a Maverick. It's too big to be a Maverick, and the interior is way too nice to be a Maverick. It's a 69 or 70 Cutlass.

I have been out plowing since 5 AM and I am now sitting in my office looking out the window and it is snowing so hard I can not see the trees. I plow my drive and parking lot and most of the neighbors drives but this year the county is only plowing main roads and no salt so I do the road all the way to the main road in town which is about 1 1/2 miles. What takes the longest is I do all the intersections and driveway openings as I go so not to piss people off by plowing them in like the county trucks. I do this on a Ford tractor wearing a snowmobile suit and helmet so after a while it kind of sucks. But I do plow all the single moms drives and clean there walks its my go to heaven card.
