I can't help but to remember my first trip to Key West with my Buddy Art in 1985. We had stopped by the Velocity factory to pick up a 22 and watched the race on the outside leg. We visited Sand Key and explored around Key West Harbor. I could go on and on about how cool it was. The following years Art was racing and I was crewing.

I have met more good people and friends at race site then anywhere else in my life. Key West is like a reunion every time I go.

Over the weekend I was organizing the basement and moved Ian's bowling bowl, I guess the zipper has not worked in a long time because the ball fell out as I was putting in on higher shelf, it rolled at and dropped on my right foot from about four feet up $+&*&^&%*. I was wearing my garden clogs and I am pretty sure my big toe is broken:ack2: I have not picked up a bowling ball in like 10 years, I think I will wait another ten years until I pick one up again

Almost got jacked on the way home ... and not in the good way :eek:

Stopped at a gas station to pee .. went in ... saw some young cute chick .. I said hi, she said hi .... did what I needed to do (pee) and went back out and got back in the truck. Im in the drivers seat, Daves on the passenger side surfin the net, Patty is in the backseat ... I'm adjusting belts and stuff ... look up and there the chick is standing at my window. I roll the window down a bit and say can I help you? She starts with these big fake tears (I have kids, I know fake when I see it) and says my van broke down and Im just tryin to get to the next exit and points in the direction we are going. I said "you can use my phone but thats it" in a aint no fukin way tone of voice and she says "but I have a phone nobody is answering" and I say "then call the police" and she says "but what would the cops do for me" and I say "the same thing your asking me to do". She says thanks anyway and goes and gets back in her van and she puts her head on the steering wheel and tilts her head to the side and starts talkin to somebody behind her. So ... either she wanted us to walk over to her van or she wanted a ride somewhere and we'd get jumped there. Either way ... Dave said they were scoot car jackers. They just wanted the scoot car we had in the back :rofl:

Bruce S was talkin to this chick ... and I know who this chick is (she raced a bat boat in Havasu and got lapped and aggravated my friends that were there with all the stories of all the stuff she was going to do) and I walked up and said hey to Bruce. He asked where I got my beads and I told him Princess gave them to me and this chick says "oh ya .. well Im the queen" so I look at her like ya right and turn back to Bruce and we were talking about how cool it was that Princess was there and this chick says "no really - Im the queen" and Bruce makes some comment to her and I again look at her like whatever and turn back to Bruce and she gets in my face, finger pointing (:eek::ack2:) and says "let me tell you something - Im a real boat racer and this in my 10th year to KW and ...blah blah blah" and I said "ya well ... Well you know .... Dave and I travel well together. I'm pretty good at anticipating whats going to happen, what needs to happen .... We had a few others with us this trip and it kinda thru off the easy going at most phere ... the drama free zone that we both enjoy. Actually ... I wanted to go to eat and drink before the awards but I didnt. I waited for somebody so they wouldnt be stuck at the condo alone ... you know ... me being nice ... so then I had to find another ride to the awards, which I did, even sat in the backseat so they could be more comfortable and I was cold.. kinda breezy back there so I asked her to roll up her window ... she didnt. Wouldnt. We had a 2 minute conversation about me being cold and she kept laughin and wouldnt roll up the GD window. Nothing like going out of your way to help somebody and them being a ***** to you after you do :rolleyes: People. Love them. Man I missed my dogs. :26:

Mornin all, I'm thinking of going to the keys for Thanksgiving, I'm driving the dogs down, my daughter won't drive down and my wife won't fly. Women, maybe I'll just take the dogs and leave them up here.:biggrinjester:

We had two other families we boated with all the time, everyone was about the same age and the kids were all within 2 years. Anyway the first couple filed for divorce early this year, now the second couple did yesterday. The second was a big surprise to me, oh well live and learn.

I said the job part is easy, its trying to decide if I'm willing to leave up here ... so they are taking me out tomorrow night for dinner and drinks. I've never been to Sarasota but a few friends of mine have places there. It's beautiful but quiet.

No new plan ... nothing changed. Just a new phone.... cheap phone too..... my current bill is $1,356 :eek: Thats F'd up....

So .... started at the mexican joint with tequila and water ... then we all came back to my house and left our cars and walked to a bar. They only had cuervo and I dont like cuervo so I went back to jack and water then somebody had the bright idea to do shots ... 7 of us ... 5 shots each ... then they didnt have any more of that stuff so we walked to another bar ... more jack and more shots ... it was the last shot that did me in. Angies husband came and picked us all up in their denali .. brought us back to my house. Apparently my bathroom floor was the only one not spinning cuz thats where I woke up :sifone:

Somebody said they wanted to go out some night and only drink what I was drinking and then somebody so no way and tried to make a toast to beer and of course I couldnt toast to that so one of the girls said titties (as in titties and beer) so then every toast after that was to titties ... Not sure how entertaining we were to everybody else but omg we were sure funny to us :rofl:

oh and some poor girl from Sprint called last night while we were at dinner to give me a courtesy call because my bill was unusually high (ya think :rolleyes:) I explain to her how my daughter bought $150 phone and my bill goes up $1200 and ask her why the plan was changed and not just the phone activated. She said what do you mean and I explained how she had unlimited texting last month and her line was free last month. She said well she still has unlimited texting and so I asked why they charged her for the 7000 text then :D Anyway ... she had me on hold for a long time then came back on and said her supervisor would fix it that she wasnt authorized to credit my account that much :sifone:

Things are busy, doesn't make me too happy. We are getting together with friends next weekend to do a bowling night (it's a lot of fun), then the following weekend is Thanksgiving and then we leave for St Croix on Dec 6 (Sat) and return Dec 13 (Sat). 12 days later it's Christmas! :ack2:

Things are busy, doesn't make me too happy. We are getting together with friends next weekend to do a bowling night (it's a lot of fun), then the following weekend is Thanksgiving and then we leave for St Croix on Dec 6 (Sat) and return Dec 13 (Sat). 12 days later it's Christmas! :ack2:

Yea... we will hook up soon, maybe meet up during the week if we have time...

We went out to eat something (cause I seriously need to do some grocery shopping), and back home by 8:30 since Rob worked the last few nights and was beat. He feel asleep before 9PM on the couch and I watched some of the Wizard of Oz (yeah, makes my post about me being "wild" really seem wild, doesn't it?), then played on the internet.

I hate Friday nights like that. But I'm glad I don't feel like RG & BBB (right Mike!).

I knew this cruise was a bad idea, I've been informed that I need a dinner jacket for two formal nights. The last suit I got was graduation and it doesn't fit, what a big surprise. I'm a goofy size so nothing going to fit right any way, so I should just go without and wear swimming trunks:biggrinjester:

Happy Monday! I noticed a bit of cold air comin in around the windows in the bathroom last night so today I get to go buy caulk and then go down to our wood shop to see if I can find some wood to trim out the windows. The windows are replacement windows but they never finished .... anything :rolleyes:

Wow, wild weekend. I went to the Double R Performance season end bash Saturday night. They held it 2 weeks earlier this year due to a huge snowstorm that hit during the party last year. Welllllll, 1.5 feet of snow fell Saturday night/ Sunday morning. It was raining when I got to their shop, about one hours drive due north of my house. That was at 8pm. When I left just after midnight, there was already close to 6 inches of wet, heavy snow and it was coming down in buckets. Blowing, huge flakes, terrible visibility.
Even with 4 brand new snow tires on my crew cab, it still took me over 2 hours to drive home. I guess the highway plows weren't ready yet because the highway was covered in 4 to 5 inches of wet snow/slush all the way home.

We had a 65 degree day Thursday. Sunny, gorgeous weather. This week, it will just barely break the freezing point later in the week and sub zero temps every night. I guess the season is really over.

Time to get the sleds ready. :)
