I liked jury duty. Make that LOVED jury duty!!!

Courthouse is 2 blocks from my house. I walked there, sat in a room for about 40 minutes and then the let me go home. 2 days in a row and then was off duty. What's not to like? I'd even go if they put me on the cases- better than surfing the web and watching TV all day at work as well without the 20 mile commute.

Wonder how I can increase my chances of getting picked more often?

Take it from a guy who has been sued and gone threw a jury trial. This is a BIG part of our judicial system that we should take very seriously. I was very impressed with the quality of jurors we had in our trial. I may not have felt this way had I lost, but I didn't. And those 12 people were smart enough to see threw the BS, and do the right thing. I would be proud to serve of Jury duty given the chance.

Take it from a guy who has been sued and gone threw a jury trial. This is a BIG part of our judicial system that we should take very seriously. I was very impressed with the quality of jurors we had in our trial. I may not have felt this way had I lost, but I didn't. And those 12 people were smart enough to see threw the BS, and do the right thing. I would be proud to serve of Jury duty given the chance.

I have been in court myself several times, myself. I won. I even won over Columbia Gas!!!!!!! How many people win over a utility company?????? ME!!!!!:sifone:

We have a soft tub that they say is portable. Weighs like 75 lbs when it's empty, but it's big and right now I have the tub so dialed in being clean and crystal clear, I'm not emptying it.

We are so ready to be finished! Not happy that we sent our gimbal ring in to get repaired and it's too not in repair condition. So, shell out another $1000 to purchase a used one, and that took two weeks to come to that decision.

Frustrating at times. Not even looking forward to next winter. Replace all the gauges and paint the boat. Ugh. :ack2::ack2::ack2:

We're painting in two stages. 4 years ago we redid our 31' Stinger and repainted the entire thing, gauges, etc. Took waaaay too long.

We are losing the original scheme on the boat as it's delaminating. We are just not going to put the money into it to restore it. We redid the upper half of the boat last winter so that's done. We are going to white it out next year and hopefully at least get a new Chief painted on her. If not, we may have to white it out and then finsih it the following winter. We have a few ideas but nothing that we're 100% set on.

Rob use to paint cars for a living so he does all the work. We know how much work it took on the 31'. We have 10 additional feet to work with and it just makes it that much tougher to finish.

Yeah, but the work on the stinger was amazing. IMO it was overkill for the type and value of the boat. (And I love stingers, used to have one.)

Cool, I like the Viperfitness Apache restore. That boat came out of Chi town

Honestly, when it comes to older boats, you will never, ever get your return on investment when you go to sell the boat when you restore them.

The only reason we did what we did with the Stinger is because Rob did all the work himself. He did the mold for the fairing. He did the molds on the side vents. He did all the paint work inside and out, and put in all the gauges himself. If he wasn't able to paint, we would have never had that scheme on the Stinger.

In the end, we sold the boat for almost $9000 more than what Rob bought the boat for 9 years previously. And we bought the Apache for much less than the original asking price.

All white? Not for me. One season only and that's it, and I hope it's not even one season.

Back to the kids living at home thing... Oddly I was listening to the radio this morning and they were surveying who had the oldest "kids" who still lived at home. I think 54 was the oldest :ack2:

How do you tell your kids it's time to move out? I have a friend that's 29 and still lives at home. I keep trying to tell her she needs to move out but because her parent's are pushing it, she really has no inclination to move.

Jury duty is defintely the backbone of our judicial system thank God. Would you want lawyers deciding your fate? It's a privilege to serve, and should be taken seriously..

TGIF I am ready for it, I finally got a couple of decent orders today.

I started back to weight watches 4 weeks ago, I went this moring and so far -7.5 lbs, the first few weeks I cheated and drank a lot, this week I have not had any alcohol since Sunday, what a difference it makes. For once though I did not gain any of the weight back I lost last year. When I loose about 12 more lbs I will qualify for a lifetime membership, which means if you attend at least one meeting a month and stay close to your goal you don't have to pay. It's sort of ridiculous that I have to have some one else record my weight so I stay on track:blush5:, Ian said he will do it for free, but no way am I telling him my weight, I even make sure I hide the WW tracking book:D They were selling pedometers so I bought one, so far I did 6,780 steps, and that did not include the morning at the gym, sounds like a lot of steps but it is just 2.88 miles.
