You do make me not feel so bad since you have 3 boats with the same story AND a place where it is 70+ year round. LOL- just jokes of course and wish both of us had more time in the day so we could get out more.

Fuel was $5/gal I burnt it like it was free; now it is sub $3/gal and I can't find the time to even start her up. I use to say how stupid people were having boats that sit on the lift all the time and why don't they use them; now I am one of those SOB's.

Ashamed to say but got in at 3AM; at work by 4:45AM ande still would melt the tube for the breathalizer at this moment.

Strange feeling about Straight Jackets passing- eating me up for some reason even without ever meeting the man. Feel like us on the CC&B thread are "tight". Maybe it is his age- I'm 37 as well. Don't mean that as casual as it sounds by any means- like I said it is eating me up enough to meantion here..

Brooks I can't believe you had a 66 vette stuck in storage for all these years, it a beauty, is that picture from after they cleaned it up. I also can not believe you are you going to miss the party, after all you are a SOS Patron, that should at least get you a free beer or two.

Mark you are not alone this hit a lot of us hard, I have thought about it constantly since I got Mike's email. I especially think about how Sr is doing. It would always be hard to loose a child, but their relationship went way beyond father and son, they were like best friends, like twin brothers, their boats were shared, friends were shared, activities shared, projects shared and still unfinished. I am extremely close with my mom, but our lives are not intertwined like Brian and his Dad's were. I have to imagine this has left a hole the size of a mac truck in Sr's heart and spirit. This made me think of Ian's dad who has always been a pompus difficult man that no one in the family has been close with. Ian, myself, his sister, and his nephew had a fight with him this past Memorial Day and none of us have spoken with him since. Such a contrast in father son relationships.

I am OD'ing on Apple Pie, the Golden Age club in Waterford has a four day long apple pie sale they bake them al in their kitchen and sell as a fundraiser for the senior olympics. I bought two on Wednesday and ate almost the whole crumb top one myself, now I just had a huge piece of the flakecrust one, and I have to go out and pick up two more that I odered. I am immediately going to freeze those to take to NY for the holidays. It's amazing they have dozens of volunteers that bake them in bulk and will sell over 900 this year.

Well take Pat Reiter passing a little over a year ago boating. The search went on for 6 days until he surfaced; ironically the same guy that rescued the other 3 on the boat found Pat. He was local to me, he worked on my props, close to my same age, we've drank way too many but never enough beer together, etc but some weird reason Brians passing has been on my mind more than Pats was. Just weird I guess.

Why stop at the rehersal dinner? My partners in crime and I. uuhhh errr I mean uhh groomsmen all got fubared at the rehersal and next day were out passing around a bottle of applejack in the parking lot minutes before the wedding started. After the reception we were abducted from our hotel by a band of rum thristy pirates (boat friends) and drug to a local bar to finish off the night. Hell if I were you Id get married every weekend. :sifone:

I travel on a few "race roads" all the time. Bikes, cars, trucks, cars trailered tubbed with slicks- they run every thing almost every night! I see them coming/going all the time- 130+ and I'd say the fastest whatever the biggest bike laid out for 6-7 miles can do.

10 months ago, 3:40AM two guys were racing with their lights off and ran in to a crowd of about 50 that were watching yet another races and killed 8 of them.

These guys that blast the Loop, will do it in packs of a dozen bikes at 8 or 9 at night when traffic is still pretty heavy. You know it got ugly when there's pieces from a couple bikes and White sheets covering bodies stretched out over a couple hundred feet. The rest are on the side freak'n out.

You need a full time person to handle these things for you.
Kind of like a Gentlemen's Gentlemen.
Between moving boats and cars back and forth and keeping tabs on the residence that's unoccupied at the time, there's no time to kick back.
It would have to be someone who's a neat freak with an eye for detail.
Someone who has a background in logistics, transportation and knows their way around Go Fast boats and cars.

The thing he isn't telling you is these were glass cases, we were moving them through a door way with about 2 inches to spare. Eric and I were inside the door way and Wayne had his end out side, the dolly moved on Waynes end and he told us to hold up to adjust then we heard a third grade girl scream and yell ERIC! so the firt thing I did was pick up on my end putting more weight on the pinky he yelled louder so I pulled on the case so we could get to the outside of the door to help not knowing the dolly was stuck in the door frame and Waynes finger is between the stuck dolly and the case which I have picked up and started pulling on. I think at this point the pain of his finger and our pulling he decided that it is possible to either pick the the display case up with one arm or lose the finger. I went to my truck got a kleenex for the tears, some bactine for the hurt and a Snoopy bandaid, but Lori had to come over and kiss his finger before we put Snoopy on. We're talking about boats, I had asked the guys working on the CC when can you leave they told me Tuesday AM. Tuesday AM I left with the jet boat and about 24 hours later they left with the CC. They should arrive this afternoon. And no it never got splashed Sunday chased electric gremlins all day Sunday

It's never simple, but as long as you get great results:sifone:

Hmmm.....now let me get this straight. You needed someone to pull it down to warm sunny Florida for you.......

Winter project time...

1- GPS broke. I called Garmin- they had a recall because my model 3210 had a water intrusion problem. I was told my Garmin dealer should have told me about it? Well they didn't nor do I really expect them to do so. I registered the unit with Garmin; why didn't they alert me? So- since I didn't ship it back within the window (since I didn't know about it) and haven't been on my boat much this year (so didn't know it was broke), I missed whatever window they had to have it fixed and now it is my problem. WTF- they know they have an issue or they wouldn't have had the recall to start with..

2- Red indicator lights were loose, so I super glued them about a month after I bought the boat in 2007. Glue reacted with the paint and has a look like a screw tightened too much on plastic- like a shattered look. Getting them replaced or repainted by Concept.

3- all the little clear fuse holder caps and the blue toggle switch covers replaced. Some have faded just a little so making it look new again. The little things irk me and make the boat look dated IMHO. (already removed before taking the panel off)

4- replacing all the lights, maybe GPS antenna, etc. Whatever is cream colored instead of white; I'm fixing them.

Took batteries out today- all 4 load tested good. Getting shirk wrapped tomorrow. I was looking at indoor storage but at $350/mo it was just not worth it for me.

Change my answer- I'll take the job of being the "Bossman".

You can retire early and shovel as much sheet as you want! Life is good! I'll let you keep the CC since I already have one and take the other as a signing bonus.

Thanks- see ya next week; I'm going on vacation this week!

ps- unemployment benefits are up to like 99 weeks and going to be extended and I want my 5 paid days for swine flu as well

I did a charity walk for the homeless- started at 8AM and was 42 degrees.

I got 0 donations per mile- slacker... But my team rasied like $1K.

We were "Team Medical Madness"- all 12 of us wore sweatshirts with that on the front, the wife to bes website on the back, surgical mask, shoe covers and hair bonnet things.

I think we may make the local paper. Even had my dog dressed up and took a pic with Mrs. Teen Maryland.

This thread needs a little jump start....sooo here goes.

After a couple of hectic days in Baltimore and NYC, the ride across PA tonight turned out to be a great night for a drive. Wasn't a cloud in the sky and the moon was so bright I could've run with no head lights. It was so bright the truck was casting shadows on the road. Gives the whole landscape a different look. Had snow on the ground at the summit of Clearfield Hill, which is the highest point on I-80 east of the Mississippi.
