Ummmm, still in Florida. We were drinking yesterday afternoon with our friends and they kept saying you need to change your flight and go home tomorrow....so I called Continental and guess what???? I got a $100 credit by changing our flights to depart tonight!!!!!

Won't be fun getting home around 11:30 tonight, but sure is nice to be in Florida one more day (especially when I saw the temperature at home at 7 vs 60 in Florida).

Barb that's lucky usually it's the other way when you change a flight. Looks like Ian is selling another phase converter, a guy just drove about 2 hours from somewhere in Western MI to pick it up. Another guy is coming to look at a larger compressor tank that he painted to look brand new. Me I am just getting ready to go out to yoga again.

JJ it was weight not muscle. It's driving me nuts that I get so hungry not that long after eating, today for lunch at 1:30 I had a decent size bowl of chicken chili, mostly protein so it's supposed to stay with you long. Then because it was left over in the fridge and I was getting hungry again, I had a extra large portion of mashed potatoes, around 2:30, now I am starving again. It does not seem right that I would be that hungry after eating all that food between 1:30 and 2:30 PM. Ian can eat lunch at noon and wait till 9:30 to eat dinner.

23 in MD as well.

My dog (will be 7 on 3/3) is on a schedule. #1 @ 5:30AM, #1 & #2 @ 5PM and #1 @ 8PM

Well he woke me up at 3AM Monday to go out to shat- very rare but whatever. Then while I was at work yesterday he shat on the kitchen floor with some blood in his stool. I took him out 4-5 times yesterday and gave him some food my Vet gave me for when he has a belly ache in the past. Well 2:30AM, 4AM and 5:30AM he wanted to go out again. Looks like he is bound up now and keeps trying but nothing coming out.

Why do I have this food? Get this- we took him away a few weekends in a different RV than ours and he was stressed out!! Stress from licking his balls all day?? WTF does he have to be stressed about?! That was a while ago- dog would pooh in the house when we got back from the RV trips so after 3-4 times I took him to the Vet and that is what he said.

Dog has poohed in the house about a dozen times in the last 7 years; yesterday, 4 times from RV trips and a few when he was younger- not normal at all and best trained dog I've ever had.

Mark sorry about you dog, it's frustrating with a pet since they can't tell you how they feel. When Kirby starts having problems like that I give him a little pepto Bismark, it seems to work if it's an upset stomach, plus it really does not do any harm. I usually know when he is feeling like that he walks around with his head hung down and stays extra close under my feet. I think he might have IBS or Colitis, he's a nervous little high strung dog. I mix this sensitive stomach dog food in with his food every day and it seems to make a difference.

It's not surprising that your dog would be stressed out after a weekend in an RV. Most dogs like the same routine, change confuses them since they don't know what to expect, or how long a new situation will last. For instance when I went on my ski trip, Kirby would not stay in bed with Ian, he kept getting up and down and going to the door waiting for me to return, for all he knew I might never be coming back home. Take them away for the weekend on an RV and they might think this is where they will be living for the rest of their lives, LOL that would stress me out. Your dog looks like a Sheltie and like Yorkies I believe that breed is known to be a bit high strung. I hope he feels better soon.

Donzi I hope you feel better soon as well. JJ, Apple Pie bite sound very good, how do you make them> For lunch today I had a Weight Watchers Pizza.

Thanks for the advice! I just got home and took him out for about about a 1/2 hour. He went #1 but no #2 and his belly is making crazy noises every 5-8 seconds. I just read online about Pepto Bismark is ok for them right before reading this thread.

The RV thing was when he got sick in the past; this time I don't know what caused it. I can't think of any thing he ate bad (never table food and 1/2 way thru a 40LB bag that last 6ish months) and he is never outside without me so didn't eat any thing strange.

Barb that just made me laugh so hard, I thought it was only me that felt like that from time to time. yes and I'd be happy all the time if I had BB's life.... back and forth to FL all the time.

I forgot to mention I received my biggest order EVER yesterday, it was for $30,000.00 I sold 310 filters, they are being exported to Iraq to go in a turbine housing. I am dealing with the broker, he has set up a container to be delivered to our factory to pack the filters in. Most of my orders are in the $1,000 range so this was a lot larger than normal. I also just got a $3,150 order so right now I am a happy camper, plus I just had some of my chicken chili for an early lunch.

Now I am heading to Aldi's does anyone have one of their stores in the area. It's a Swedish or German company and the sell good quality private labeled food pretty cheap, you have to bring your own bags, bag your own stuff and you have to put a quarter in the machine to get a shopping cart. The have a sale on mussels and scallops and other seafood. I love their mussels they are frozen in a blister pack in butter or light tomato sauce, it's 16 oz and sell for $2.99, heat it in a pot, open the pouch and pour over some pasta..........delious. Oh well off I go digging for mussels, then I am heading to Rite Aide they have Clois de Bois wine on sale for $7.99, as you can tell I love a good sale:03:

My brothers ex girlfriends son used to manage the Aldis in Marion. We dont have one here so what I'd save, I'd spend in gas to get there :D A lot of generic stuff is better than their name brand counterparts. I buy Walmart generics all the time (the mac and cheese is awesome and the shells and cheese is way better than the velveeta) My mom is a big fan of the Meijer generics but I rarely shop there... but again ... we dont have one here. Walmart or Kroger ... or Save a Lot ... I do do Save a Lot too :sifone:

Yes we have an Aldi's but I don't shop there because I do have to bring my own bags and bag my own stuff. I'm lazy, even when I can save money (see, another thing people think to themselves all the time, but only a hanful say out loud!).

Hey Barb ... wanna take care of Columbia Gas for me? I had no heat on in the big house since I moved in September. Took it off budget ... pay the real bill. November the meter was read and the bill was $30. December was estimated and it says right on the bill that its based on the previous years usage. Bill was $200. I paid $40 and called. They said when the meter was read in January, the bill would be adjusted. Meter read in January, useage bill was $40 but no adjustment for December. I call the beginning of February to have it turned off on sale date and mention that it hasnt been adjusted. They said no problem it will be adjusted when they do the final reading. I get the bill .... no adjustment and estimate on the final... of $150. I call and say NO FREAKIN WAY it cost $150 for 10 days of no heat. The guy said Oops ... it didnt get read... he would send somebody right out and they would adjust it. I get the final bill ... the adjusted it $50  I call and say how can it cost more to not heat an empty house than it costs to heat the house I am living in. The guy asks me what temp the thermostat is set on and I say off. There is no water, no heat, no nothing in the house and he says too bad, so sad, it is what it is is there anything else I can help you with today. :boxing_smiley:

While you're at it, you can call Hamilton Beach appliances and yell at them too. I broke the knob on my crockpot and they want to charge me $11 for a new one - 5 for the part and 6 for the shipping. I think that's ridiculous. I can buy a new crockpot for just a few more bucks!

Plus there's other companies that are so much easier to deal with. My mom got me a nightstand from Good will (yes she loves to junk shop). It was still in the box and came from Target. I went to put it together and noticed one of the sides had a crack in it. I emailed the company and told them what product number it was. They sent me a brand new side of a nightstand for free and no shipping charge! And Hamilton Beach won't even send me a little freaking knob to go on a crock pot!

You have a handy "hubby." He can:
A) find a similar knob that is a little loose and put a wedge and some super glue in it.
B) fix the broken knob.
C) find a similar crock pot on ebay and buy the whole thing for 5 bucks, stockpiling extra parts in case of additional reasons to hamilton beach.
D) Make a new, better knob. Perhaps billet?
E) Bust out the micro-vice grips.

Fixing the broken knob is out of the question ( way too broken plus I think I threw it away).

I've been using vice grips and it works well, it's just irritating. Plus when you take it somewhere for a pot luck or something it looks funny to bring vice grips or ask if they have any you can borrow.

don't get me started on Jenn Air, I have a dual fuel slide in range with a built in down draft, cost about $2,000 9 years ago, hated the burners from day one they are impossible to clean, I have to take the whole thing apart and spray the heck out of it with heavy duty oven cleaner, within a few years a couple of the knobs started to melt, then the front panel started to warp. About 10 months ago the front panel stopped lighting up, 3 months ago the broiler stopped working. It will probably cost about $400. The gal the gal from the appliance repair place said I would be better off getting a new range. I have been debating this for about 2 months the problem is the fit and the fact that we have a gas line, and electric line to it and some type fan that is in the floor under the unit for the down draft, hard to find another range that will match up. I hate to buy another Jenn Aire, the type I have is now about $3,000 and the other companies don't seem to have the downdraft feature and I don't want a hood, so I stew and wonder what to do. I like to broil stuff so I dragged out this broiler convection oven that I got as a Christmas gift a few years ago and that thing is a piece of chit, hardly seems to brown anything,, OK group BITxch Slap:ack2:

If I replace or ever redo the kitchen, I will remove the Jenn-Air. Totally not worth the money in my opinion. We have two burners on the right and then the grill on the left, which we seldom use. I looked into buying the griddle to replace the grill. Ha! They can kiss my a$$ and then shove it up theirs!

Another idea is to use the vice grips once, and then connect the power cord to a Variac. That way... you can raise and lower the AMPERAGE!!

Or, maybe a nice wooden knob.

Ok... last idea... mix some JB weld... pour it in a plastic cap. Hold the cap in place until it dries. Paint it a pretty color. Viola. Done.

I can't complain to Ian because he did not want the Jenn aire in the first place, he thought it was to pricy then. Do you have a gas oven, or do you have the duel fuel. Get me some of that Clois de Bois wine. That's cheap! That stuff runs $10-11 a bottle when on sale here. I really like their Cab.

My excuse used to be I'm a blond, not it's I am a BLIND blond..........
I head to Rite Aide with 2 of my empty wine boxes (the divided cardboard 6 pack carry case some of the stores give you). They have an end cap of the wine and it marked $9.99 so I immediately get someone to complain to, they scan it and it comes up at $9.99 so then I tell them the add SAID $7.99 and they proceed to get an add and I say SEE $7.99 and they look at me like I have two heads, the price was to the right of the bottles in the add, but because I could not read the small print without my reading glasses I did not realize the price really went to the bottles on the left, so they were $9.99:iamwithstupid: oh well that's OK, I don't mind laughing at myself. But since I have about 12 pairs of dollar store reading glasses laying around the house you would think I would use them, especially since this is not the first time this has happend to me. I HATE needing reading glasses, my eysight used to be perfect, now I can't adjust the heat in the house, program my coffee pot, use the TV remote, read the time on my alarm clock and so many other things with out those stupid reading glasses, the worst of it I can't even figure out who to Bit&h Slap for that one:rofl: OK I feel better now.

Second, dont' feel bad on the reading thing. I told Rob last night that the TV is stating to look blurry and the thought of wearing glasses for more than just proofreading here and there makes me angry. I too use to have perfect eye sight.

I bet the griddle is black, just like the grill. Our burners are gray, even though the top itself is white.

Let me know what you have and I'll drop you a PM. Will be more than happy to pay the shipping!

Thanks Donna.

Dawn I probably sold the Corelle dishes to the store where you got them. I worked for Corning Glass through the 80's that's how I wound up in MI, I got transferred here to call on the key accounts in OH and MI, Meijer's, K-Mart and some others selling Corningware, Pyrex, Corelle and Visions cookware. What pattern do you have. I left them in 89 the year I met Mr. P. He's overnight on a compressor buying mission in TN so I am up late, I ate popcorn, drank wine, then ate some ice cream, all the major food groups. So now I am practicing head stands, you guys can probably do one, they do it in yoga class and I can't so I am determined to get it, I was very excited cause tonight I actually got my legs half way up in the air (I think the wine gave me courage). It's an odd position, you get down in a squat, put your legs on your forearms, your head on the floor, and lift yourself up from there, Kirby has gotten in the habit of crawling underneath me after I get my leg on my forearms, I can't imagine what would happen if I fell. Squiiiiiiiiiiish :ack2:

New title and thread! Looks like the money and Logistics were a no go with OSS so she made a slight change

INAUGURAL “LAKE ERIE BOAT WEEK” SCHEDULED TO LAUNCH ON
LABOR DAY WEEKEND 2009
Port Clinton to Cap Summer of Lakeside Fun with National Event

(Port Clinton, Ohio – February 12, 2009) – A major, national event is coming to the north shore of Lake Erie! The inaugural “Lake Erie Boat Week” will be a week-long series of boating-related events and parties, culminating in an Offshore Performance Association (OPA) powerboat race on Labor Day weekend 2009.

“I am excited and energized by the possibilities of this inaugural Lake Erie Boat Week event. It is a dream come true for me,” said Event Director Janie Vogel. “After envisioning and planning this event for around 10 years, it’s finally real. The minute I started talking about this new event, the entire region got behind it, offering help and support. It will be an amazing way to finish off a great summer season in the Lake Erie Islands area.”

The week-long celebration begins on Tuesday, September 1st, with the first day of a Powerboat Regatta for pre-registered pleasure boaters, and will include competitions in navigation, docking and maneuverability for skilled captains, along with on-shore parties and entertainment. The Powerboat Regatta continues through Thursday, September 3rd, when a “Fastest Boat on Lake Erie” Competition is held, a title that has never been bestowed, allowing boaters in each of 10 different speed classes a chance at bragging rights for the following year.

Thursday, September 3rd, the competitors and staff from the OPA will descend on Port Clinton, setting up in Racer’s Village, which will occupy the Municipal Pier and Waterworks Park in downtown Port Clinton. The boating festival will continue on Friday, September 4th, when a huge Racer’s Welcome Parade and Party will take place on the streets of Port Clinton.

LAKE ERIE BOAT WEEK - continued

The first on-water action for the OPA regulars will come on Saturday, September 5th, when their 180-mph boats take to the shores of Lake Erie (near the Municipal Pier) to test for the afternoon. Sunday, September 6th is Race Day, when the OPA rockets run their course for a nice purse, points and prestige!

“For anyone who has not visited this part of Ohio, you won’t want to miss Lake Erie Boat Week this year, as it will be a great reason to come to the Islands area and see all of the recreation the area has to offer, both on the shore and on the water,” Vogel exclaimed. “It really is a true vacationer’s paradise with something for everyone. And if you are a boater or water-lover, this is a must-see event - a truly great way to showcase our beautiful Lake Erie and all of its resources.”

Racer’s Village vendors will be open, and entertainment and other festivities will take place daily, open to the public for the nominal price of a wristband. Also included in Racer’s Village will be a kid’s play area and a skate park, and walkways line the shore allowing spectators to spread out for prime viewing of the racing activities, or to simply enjoy the spectacular scenery.

Volunteer Race Committee Captains and general event volunteers, volunteer boats, vendors and corporate partners (both trade and cash) are currently being sought. For more information on the event, or to become involved as a sponsor, vendor or volunteer, please contact Janie Vogel at racingpr@oh.rr.com. Information on the OPA Racing Series can be found at www.oparacing.org. The www.LakeErieBoatWeek.com website is currently under construction, and will be available by March 1, 2009. All relevant event information can be found at that location thereafter.
