Single Engine, Full Canopy Boats

Well, I rarely read the comments on youtube, but that boat didn't have lids on the f16's (not that any of those lids would work anyway, most mount to the plastic anyway).

Watch the video, you can see thier helmets bouncing around. One of the worst "canopy" ideas out there, run around with no lids. It becomes a big funnel with your head and neck right at the top of it.

they went to this right after the crash, but then did away with the single canopies...

I was told to think of it as an ice cream scoop, the water being the ice cream the scoop being the force.

It pushes the water in and curls it and folds the person inside.

So now I understand why you completed your hatches....

ice cream if you are lucky, concrete if you are not.

I think it was Glass Daves explanation, not really sure. But it was one of the main reasons I wanted lids.

I'm just saying how the ice cream curls on the scoop.. you get "curled" at the highest point; your neck :(

I know what you were saying, I was just point out in a worst case scenario, you aren't getting out of one of those things. There is just no place to displace all the force.

Ironically, Dave throttles an even bigger ice cream scoop, or well, used to.

Unfortunately in a worse case scenario no one get out of the boat.

without going back and looking, I remember something like all canopies must be a single canopy, side by side seating...

I found it in the OSS Rule Book. Boats manufactured beginning in 2005 must have side by side single canopy.....

The old traffic light would NEVER be competitive as an SVL if thats what your considering Paul. It's currently rigged with a 800hp motor and speed-master drive and is a freak in the water at best.. lol

Just trying to find every one that is legal, or could be made legal. Many are probably not competitive currently. SVL has seriously been tweaking the last couple years. But, they'll also help anyone who wants to go race with them.

What do you mean by "Freak"?

The only ones legal for SVL ,,,my oppinion,, are extreme, phantom !!!!!!!!
....badboy and maybe activator,,the small one !

After further review my brilliant idea to turn my turd straight bottom into an SVL legal boat is crushed with the boat being only 25' long. Might still work for class 6 or 5 OPA.
