Golf Stuff.

But their 12 handicaps will be at some local course, not Augusta National when it's groomed for the Masters.

My guess is, best case, they would still finish 12 over and 1 pro would be under par.

I never had the opportunity to play there, came close one time on a business trip. But, we did have a key salesman who lived on Pinehurst #2, on the Par 3 hole 12. I was a 7 handicap at the time and barely broke a 100. And it was not in tournament tough condition.

Typically, the winner comes in around -9.

A team of 12HC golfers playing in a scramble have an effective HC of 8 using the standard 25/20/15/10 formula.

12x25%=3
12x20%=2.4
12x15%=1.8
12x10%=1.2
Total 8.4

Essentially, an 8 HC has the skills to manage the distance of Augusta, but not the accuracy or putting skills to break 80.

Don't forget the extra length and deeper rough during the Masters week.

Estimated Score Range for Average Golfers at Augusta

While professional players at Augusta routinely score under par during the Masters, average golfers will face a very different scoring reality. Based on course difficulty, player skill level, and typical performance statistics, the following table summarizes an estimated scoring range for an average golfer playing from the Masters tees:
Handicap RangeEstimated Score RangeKey Contributing Factors
15-20 Handicap95-110 (+23 to +38 over par)Difficulty with long approach shots, fast greens, and strategic hazards
10-14 Handicap90-95 (+18 to +23 over par)Better control of approach shots but still challenged by green speeds and course length
5-9 Handicap85-90 (+13 to +18 over par)Good ball striking and course management, fewer penalty strokes
This table assumes the player is using the same tees as the Masters professionals. Most average golfers would typically play from forward tees or club tees, which reduces the course length and difficulty, but even then, Augusta remains a stern test.
