On Sat, I went with my brother-in-law, for a day of boating. We took his boat, out through the lock, South down Charlotte Harbor, West out towards Boca Grande pass, North up Placida Harbor, and out Gasparilla Pass. After a brief stay at the North tip of Gasparilla Island (Boca Grande), we went back South down Placida Harbor to Cayo Costa island.

Looks like Fun. First Holiday I have sat at home in a long time. I am building a new house though so I have a good excuse.

My brother-in-law lives in an area of canals, behind that lock. I primirally keeps the water levels at a contant height. The river it connects to (the river I live on) has quite a winter tide swing.

A lot of really nice boating destination here in SW Florida. More than happy to be a guide to fellow SOS boaters.

No, Stump Pass is 6 miles north of our first stop (Gaspiralla Pass) and 12 miles north of our second stop (Cayo Costa).

Stump Pass and "ski alley" are also beautiful locations, but that pass is very tricky, shallow, and changes almost weekly. Going up the inside to that location is terrible due to the no wake zone.

I bought my Sea Ray cruiser from a guy in Cape Coral last December and kep the boat down there for the winter. Took my kids and two of their friends to cabbage key and stayed in one of their cabins. Here is the boat docked at the cabin with on of the tour boats going by. I am enjoying an adult beverage on the screen porch taking photo. Great place to boat. going back in January.

I always liked the Sea Ray sedan bridge, great looking boat. Here is the tour ferry underway, 3-4 weeks ago.
