    Mercury Recall Notice
    #1
"The engine and alternator harnesses have improper overcurrent protection. If an electrical overload condition develops in either of these two circuits, the condition may cause the conductor to overheat and could cause an electrical fire in the harness."
"We ask that you contact your local Mercury Marine Mercruiser dealer and make an appointment to bring your boat in and have a kit installed to provide the proper overcurrent protection. The service bulletin that directs the dealer to the proper corrective action, at no cost to you, is Service Bulletin # 2008-05."
Has any one had this "kit" installed? Wondering what is involved and will want to find a competent authorized Mercury mechanic to conduct the recall work.
This notice was sent pertaining to 525 efi's. Don't know if it pertains to other power packages as well. Thanks!
