St Clair 2014

The other epic battle of the day, besides the one between Saris and Simmons, was the Vee Lite battle for first place between Pirate and Tug It. Tug It took the lead at the start, but Pirate was on their outside hip throughout the race. Lap after lap they battled, with Pirate trying the inside, the outside, and never quite getting by. In the south turn Tug It would watch Pirate on their outside hip and try to force them to take a wider sweep of the corner than the line they preferred. Once Pirate tried the cut inside and they scrubbed too much speed to maintain the lead. But, with about two laps to go, Pirate laid back just far enough to where they could make the cut to the inside lane without scrubbing speed and then they checked out in the clean water.

Unfortunately Tug It ran out of fuel on the last lap so they did not maintain second place either. But the race was certainly interesting.

Unfortunately most of my shots of that race suck as I had the camera set wrong. Sorry for the crap.
