The owners of RP Elite Motors and Marine, the exclusive Skater Powerboats catamaran dealershi \located in Springtown, Texas, Ross and Mackenzie Ramsey went into the second-year Skaterfest last weekend on a high. Shortly before the two-day brand-celebration they produced on Lake Texoma, the couple learned they’ll be parents in the near future. Their first child, a boy, is due in April.

Nothing could have dampened their spirts, and rightly so given their news, which they announced to almost a dozen Skater catamaran owners and their guests present at the host-venue West Bay Casino and Resort of the shores of the massive waterway in Kingston, Oka.
Though slightly down from last year, the turnout delivered a nearly complete collection of Skater catamarans from a single-outboard-engine powered 21-footer to a 40-footer with twin stern-drive engine power. Water and weather conditions were flawless
“The weather couldn’t have been better for us on both Friday and Saturday,” Ramsey explained. “This made for awesome water conditions on Lake Texoma.”
Hosts Ross and Mackenzie Ramsey enjoyed the event in their Pure Platinum series Skater 388.
Said second-year participant Dale Rayzor, who traveled from California to be there, “It was as fun time as was last year. Lots of good people were there, and it was still great even if the lake was a little flat for the bigger boats.”
Another plus of the relatively small fleet size and smooth water? Photo and video opportunities were abundant for every boat. Both still photographer Pete Boden of Shoot 2 Thrill Pix and Fast Loud Photography videographer/still photographer Erick Bryner were on the job both days.

“Erick had a GoPro on just about every boat—I’m eager to see the footage,” Ramsey enthused. “Pete Boden did a great job staying with the group of boats from the helicopter. Plus, he was able to take those pictures he captured and make them into a slide presentation for us to all see Saturday evening at West Bay Casino and Resort.”
The Ramseys made their personal announcement during the Saturday night celebration.
“That was a very special moment for us to share with our RP Elite staff, customers and friends,” Ross said. “That’s what Skaterfest is about and the event lived up to that—to the fullest. Our second-year Skaterfest was a breath of fresh air.”
Soon to be a father, Ramsey described the event as “a breath of fresh air.”
