Ryan has replaced Chris Fairchild as the APBA Offshore chairman. There couldn't be a more experienced and passionate offshore racer chosen.

One thing is for sure, I will never hear another, "But he's never raced an Offshore boat", (Which I must have heard a hundred times with Chris), again as long as Ryan is the guy!

Why would anyone in their right mind want such a thankless position. Whatever decisions or rulings he makes there will always be that “one guy” trying to rock the boat. Is the “chairman” a paid position?

Oh yeah, at least one guy......

And no, it is not a paid position. Travel expenses for required trips are covered to a certain point.

And his first event was a really tough one. Wind, giant waves, fog, etc. And three boats missed the start buoy. Fog?, pace boat?, penalties and appeals ongoing.
