Prince and Dunphy Die in Lake of the Ozarks Accident

Bodies Recovered After Two Killed In Friday's Powerboat Crash At Lake Of The Ozarks

LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — The bodies of Richard "Richie" Prince and Bradley Dunphy were recovered just before noon on Saturday, Aug. 27 after a tragic powerboat crash on Friday evening, Aug. 26.

The Patrol says 49-year-old Prince and 40-year-old Dunphy were riding in a 2013 MTI, with Prince driving, when it went airborne at around 7 p.m. on Friday. Witnesses told the Patrol that the boat rolled to the starboard side in the air, struck the water, and then flipped upside down.

Authorities believe one of the men was ejected from the boat while the other remained inside.

White confirmed the boat was overturned when MSHP Marine Troopers arrived on the scene at about 7:13 p.m., after a call came in at 7:01 p.m.

Responding agencies in addition to the Highway Patrol included Mid County Fire, Lake Ozark Fire, Sunrise Beach Fire, Rocky Mount Fire, Lake West Ambulance, the Camden County Sheriff's Department, Tow Boat US and Atlantis Dive & Dock Salvage.

A No-Wake Zone that was temporarily in effect on Saturday morning while divers searched the area around the 10 Mile Marker has been lifted.

The bodies were found in water 68 feet deep.
