Back to original question. Mercury has been making 150's since at least the '70's. In line 6, (sparkle boat, possibly gold or blue) V6, (metal flake boat) V6 EFI, (pearl boat) V6 DFI, (flame boat) and now 4 strokes (carbon fiber print wrap boat)..

Now my question about paint probably makes more sense.

I forgot about carbon fiber print. That may be the fastest of all.

There was a time when tournament bass boats ran 150's. the 150 line of mercs include the XR2, XR4 , XR6, These were brocshured 150's with 200 displacements.

So they used 200's, masked as 150's, to meet some kind of rule?
