Navy Cancels Key West .

It doesn't affect the World's in any way other than a possible main location change for watching. Larry has a 6 year contract with both the city and the Navy. If the contract between the city and the Navy gets cancelled, and it may, the contract between the city and RWO for the parts of the city property that Larry uses would still be in effect, and the contract between Larry and the Navy would still be in effect.

The issue seems to be that the Navy has a contract with the city for X to be done to the Navy Pier for the city being able to use the pier/mole. When the environmentalists changed the number of cruise ships that could use the Navy pier to a lot less ships, the city supposedly didn't have the money to keep the pier in the repair status that the Navy had in the contract.

Hegseth fired the head of the Navy, and the new head is like Trump, keep your end of the deal or else, so the line was drawn in the sand.

Not sure exactly what will happen, but it will not affect the World's in Key West other than a possibility that he would have to use Mallory Square for the main watch area instead of the mole. Larry's contracts are seperate and cover everything but the mole as I understand them. But remember, the Navy likes the money they make from the concessions and gate stuff from the World's, so Larry could possibly add the mole to his contract with the Navy.

All that has to happen, is the city needs to go back to allowing more cruise ships dock there to be able to get the funds to do the required upkeep and improvements on the pier.

The interesting thing is, the property is Federal, and if the Navy wants to make the money instead of allowing the city to, they can contract with the cruise lines and completely cut the city out. There would be nothing the city could do about it because they are in violation of the existing contract.

Anyway, an interesting development cause of Trump's hard ball ways with cutting costs and hiring people who think like him. We shall see, but that is my understanding of the current situation.
