I don't think so. You've led the entire race, all you need is a fifth or better to take home the Championship, you've proven you can beat every other boat, (although Mark may have had a chance before the oh so close to a crash), why take a chance on the last lap?

I'm sure the ground spotters were screaming at them, "Slow down, all you have to do is finish in front of Performance and you're 3/4 of a lap ahead of them, knock it off, what the hell are you doing, don't take a chance on breaking", etc. etc.

If I was spotting I know I would have said that and more.

Oh believe that stuff goes on .and as a true hater of bracket racing he swore he would never slow up /
clearly they did .
I was in wal mart in mich city and overheard three teams setting up this very thing .
