Deciphering Dunkirk

You don't believe that OPT was the beginning of the first downfall of offshore racing?

No that started in the first offshore event crossing the English channel in early 1900 LOL

Looks like soon enough came faster than I thought.LOL Hang on true intentions are coming quickly.

Apba what a faithfull entity .

We should Market that Term....."The Mess in Key West"

Get some Shirts made, Bumper Stickers, and Beer Coozies .

Have shots of boats running into each other?

RWO say they are reversing the course, but SBI hasn't changed their format. And they both say they are putting the races on at the same time, same days.

This could be the shot in the Arm that this Sport needs to go Mainstream...Multi-million Dollar Demolition Derby..:smash:

Bobcat you a funny guy .
Are you the guy I helped on us 1 a few years back ?youre gravel truck broke in half made a mess .

Any way Keywest this year is unpredictable.it seems.
sbi and a lawyer and a friend ( female ) will start all kinds of legal action, try and sue anyone possible.
rwo needs equipment .they may do a deal with sbi for the use of all the old stuff just sitting ? who knows?

The mess is Key West and now no July 4th race in Sarasota. Might as well have the race at LOTO and let the pontoons win World Championships too.

If they made the toons out of polyethylene they could smash into each other with no real damage....

Nope...I'm more of leave the scene and head to the local watering hole...after wiping any surface I touched...Then reporting said Truck stolen.

A big issue with Clearwater, because they backed out of being part of the 6 race OPA/P1 series, is OPA decided to put a race on that same weekend in Ocean City. Any of the boats who are in a possible championship position cannot go to Clearwater and take a chance of losing a championship.

see ? same ols thing .that is exactly what sbi would have done .
Different organization ,same politics, same leaders. shame .oh well.

and now ( for acouple xtra bucks ) apba has thrown smitty under the bus.

All the work all year to get a really good boat count to the ft myers and Englewood is now in jeopardy?

The folks in Englewood are a great fan base. I hope they don't get forgotten by teams whom they support each year

I do not believe that APBA's decision to let RWO run a couple races with APBA sanctioning affects OPA/P1 in any way other than allowing RWO to run all APBA classes. No way any boats that were planning on doing the other races change their plans because of APBA affiliation.

It does surprise me, barely, that some are saying the points from those races count towards the 6 Race series of OPA/P1. They do not count, period.

It does help RWO a bit because they actually don't have the open cockpit, or GPS classes, in their plan. So now the GPS boats, and other open boats, can race as long as they meet APBA class rules.

And I believe Fort Meyers and Englewood will have more boats than Key West, but we will see.

I like that scenario . but those spec class guys have never done well in a crisis.

some will save equipment for kw. some will prove allegiance to the opa .

clear water ?

Clearwater will be an interesting test for RWO. Last year, under SBI, there were 37 boats there. This year?
