Commentary: Can Offshore Racing Survive Another Circuit?

Of course it will. The real question is, can 3 separate orgs survive promoting Offshore Racing?

My short answer, no way. Something has to give. There are not enough boats.

But, if the 3 orgs really cared, they would all work together, standardize the rules, and have a points system like Offshore used to have for the separate regions and hold a joint World Championship race under the unified rules.

Maybe then the sport would grow again........

Yeah, I know.

You would think, as they lose more and more venues, they would try to fix the root-cause of the problem.

Hopefully, with another player in the game, a consensus will put the classes, and other rules, identical.

If that ever happens, and the rules are actually enforced instead of letting cheaters off the hook for money or other considerations, you will see the sport grow.

If that does not happen, you will see the sport continue to shrink........

I'm guessing they don't have the answers yet.

Must still be working on it.........

It is interesting that SBI and RWO both show a race in the Mentor area of Ohio in their plans on the same weekend. The map on the RWO site is the same area of Mentor as SBI's. Just east of the river mouth instead of west of the river mouth.

"SBI lists its July 20 Mentor, Ohio, contest as “Race Pending,” while RWO has a July 19-20 event set for the “Greater Cleveland area.”

actually it has more to do wither sports ,soccer lacross etc

uses the few areas they have to play in .they are way not happy.

just sayin its more than just one roadblock
