Boating Technology

Who says this stuff won't come in hand.
My daughter is taking a Technology course.
Her current subject is boat making.
She has an assignment to write an article about a current technology, and if it is about boats, there is an extra credit.

SO... which technology to write about, and I'd need an article to pull info from.

BTW, she is in 6th grade, and the assignment only needs to be 2-3 paragraphs.

all the articles in Professional Boatbuilder are archived in the digital issue index. Lots to chose from

Thanks guys, but that's a bit technical and detailed.
More info... she is in 6th grade.
I was thinking more along the lines of step hulls and surface piercing drives.
That thread on using new lightweight composite materials is good, but i'd need an article or website where i can site info.
Assignment is just 2-3 paragraphs.

just have her cite a website for one of the boat companies that have building info on their website OL has some stuff about carbon epoxy and vacume bagging...

ugh... now she just handed me the assignment.
It has to be from a published article from the last 6 months, from a magazine or newspaper, in hard or digital format. No manufacturers sites, no blog info, no google search, unless it took me to a published article.
Sorry for doing this to you... its enough my kid does it to me.

If someone has a powerboating or extreme boats mag that has something technology related, that'd be great. Otherwise.... i figure on another thing to do.

I just e-mailed you an article. It's one page on "green" epoxies. It's got some tech but nothing that the average person wouldn't understand. Plus it's about emissions-free, non-fossil-fuel technology. Your kid should have no problem yanking two paragraphs out of it.
