The run has been moved from Monday on Labor Day to Saturday of the Labor Day weekend.
Labor Day Weekend Fun Run
Saturday, September 5, 2015
11:00am – 4:30pm
WMO membership is required for participation in this event.
WMO members will gather outside of the Lake Macatawa Overflow Beach for a fun run to South Haven and back. Departing at 11am, we'll make the 25-mile trip down Michigan's beautiful coast to South Haven. On the way back, we'll head to Saugatuck for a party at the cove just inside the pier heads. Because of limited docking in South Haven, this will not be a lunch run, so please bring a sack lunch. The raft-up will break up around 4:30pm.
Pete Boden, owner of Shoot 2 Thrill Photography and one of the premier action sports photographers in the country, will be with us to capture your boat in action!
As an exclusive WMO member benefit, Anchorage Marina on Lake Macatawa has offered discounted transient slips from Friday through Sunday.

For the best possible shots of your boat:
1. Try to make sure you pass the photo boat on the side where the sun would be in your eyes looking at the photographer. With the light behind the photographer, it highlights the photo subject, your boat, as if it were a portrait using a flash.
2. Feel free to make several passes.
3. Be safety minded.
a. There is no need to buzz the photo boat super close, be careful wake jumping.
b. Watch for other boats.

Craig will be leaving Barret's in Grand Haven around 9:00 to 9:15 on Saturday morning, with Pete along. If you are running down from Grand Haven to Lake Macatawa, tag along and add an additional photo opportunity.
