Hey Everyone!!

I am participating again this year in the Wisconsin Special Olympics World's Largest Convoy on September 18th. The convoy raises money for Special Olympics Athletes. Last year was an awsome experience and looking forward to it again. The kids were an inspiration to all the drivers that participated. All the money donated goes toward a great cause and a great foundation!
If you would like to sponsor me, you can use this link and it will take you directly to my pledge page on the Special Olympics web site. Every little bit helps!!
Thanks, Wayne

The guy that owns both trucks is three hours west of us. I spoke with him a month ago about doing the convoy. He said he's always wanted to do it and if he could get away he would bring his dad along so they could bring both trucks. I made arrangements to keep the trucks at our yard and use the wash bays to spruce them up after the trip over from his place. Spoke to him yesterday and he said he had to pass this time around. They have a busy schedule this year and it was too hard to get away.

We roll in 24 hrs for Special Olympics Convoy. Convoy starts at 9:30 from Pioneer plaza in Richfield and roll into the EAA grounds in Oshkosh about 11:00. The event is open to the public to view the trucks and greet the kids. If anyone's around Oshkosh tomorrow, stop down.

Sorry I didn't get an update on here earlier. I wanted to get an album put together on FB to link here.
As Brooks stated, we had 120 trucks this year and raised $83,000 as of the day of the convoy. Was down a bit from last year, but considering the economy I think the numbers were still pretty respectable for a one day event.
I want to thank every one who sponsored me. It's your support that makes a difference in the athletes lives.
Here's a few pics from the convoy and the link to the photo album on FB

Outstanding job Wayne !:hurray:

Thanks Bobster. I'm a newbie compared to some of the guys involved. The athletes are amazing. At lunch we sat with a guy that works as a cook 30 hrs a week and trains about the same amount of time for the events that he competes in and volunteers with the other kids. Ya can't help but walk away feeling a little humbled after spending some time with them.
