The big yachts in Miami

Anyone else get a chance to wander through the mega yachts down there? I have a friend that is a riding engineer on a 142 Richmond (the Richmond Lady) and we hooked up with him saturday afternoon. Got the full tour . . . . holy crap

The displays were nuts. Lazzara had a giant floating office along with a fleet of unreal boats. I didnt get any pics as my New digital cam took a chit (ironically about the only warranty i have ever purchased to :D) My buddy took these vid clips of us poking around the 142. Cool engine room . . . .

Lazzara makes some really nice yachts. I had the pleasure of touring their facility in Tampa and it's impressive to say the least. Their floating sales office is incredible. Talk about out-of-the-box thinking.

Great stuff and nice to know how the other half lives .............. Right .

I think it is less than HALF, but man it sure seems like there is a lot of them when you go to that show.

It is very humbling. I think every $100 Millionaire should be required to walk that dock at least once a year.

hey, I am in the bahamas right now, we were in staniel cay last night, and there was one sweet yacht out there, it is called searacer, and is was owned by penske. the first mate on my boat has been on it before, and it has a turbine and does almost 40kts and is a 150. we just left there and headed to highborn cay. on the way here we passed pelorus which is 377ft. my god, that thing is big. and if you were in lauderdale two weeks ago, octupus was in port everglades. I will try to get some pics of it if it is still anchored out in the morning when we head back to nassau. so far. the one thing I have learned since I have started working on yachts, is the more money you have, the more socially acceptable it is to get trashed before lunch.

It is also socially acceptible if you are unemployed and broke, (like me) you just have to hang out with other unemployed drunks. :)

When did you start working on yachts? What company? Or just get lucky and find a ride?

We had dock space at a "repair" facility in Ft Laud. last yr. There were 2 140's and the Big girl of the yard "Reverie" was just outrageous @ 240 or something around there! Unreal.. .........
