I have a 2004 33ZX with stock 496s she will run out at 75mph GPS, I noticed that 33 has stand off boxes with 600s she should run high 80s low 90s, She is a heavy boat and takes rough water well, big cabin "My wife loves it" What do you mean old school 600s? are they Mercury 454s with a blower or 500s with a blower?

04-16-2009 06:21 PMWhat should a '95 run with 502's? I'm presuming that was before they added the stepped hull?

That boat has been a dream of mine for many years.
Best of both worlds, a big, heavy, comfortable 33 - and plenty of speed.
Always liked those.
Good luck!"Keep the bottle on the bar Ira, I won't be long".

The step bottom 33 started in 1998, the older non step were 5mph slower then the step bottoms, The daytona model that came out later was vacume packed to take out voids and lesson weight, after 2003 all the 33ZXs were vac packed except the specials. The steps also made them handle better in rough water. Believe me the 33ZX runs like a big boat and can take big water very well.
