You just need to store it (climate controlled, covered and only driven weekly to church on nice summer days type ad). Then sell it to Sydwayz in 10 years since his will have hit the boneyard by then. He will still be talking about how great the 7.3's are and how they are the only diesel nice enough to pull AT's:26:
I sold my 2001 F350 7.3 Lariat Crew Cab 4x4 Short-bed earlier this year. IMO...it's likely the most sought after Ford truck produced in the last 15 years (or more).
It had 120K miles on it. This was a SRW model...not a dually. It had a 3" leveling kit up front, 20" moto-metal wheels and brand new 35" tires.
Sold it for $14,000 (and I should have asked for more).
Can't find a pic right now. It was 2-tone (white w/ tan bottom) and had a tan leather interior. All in excellent condition.
I miss that truck almost every day. I love my 2008 6.4 because the ride is more comfortable/smooth/quiet, but it's no 7.3...that's for sure. If I knew then what I know now...I'd have kept my 7.3.
