Having seen it in person, I believe the final shot shows Aquamania heading back out from inside the swim-bouys.

That is freeking crazy. I can show them some pictures where a 36 foot 120 mph Skater went about 100 yards outside the course before flipping on a turn like that. That is downright irresponsible to have the course that close, and let swimmers in the water. We didn't even bring the OC race that close and they closed the beach to swimming along the whole length of the course.

The group behind those guys were much closer. I'd say 15 feet maximum, maybe as close as 10. I quit shooting because I thought they were dead. And they had rushed in closer to shore by about that much I believe.

We'll see when a video shows up.

If you look at pic one, you'll see the four guys out in the water.

The kid in the water on the left in the black shirt is the key. (I can't get the perfect reference).

In this pic I just posted her, it is the start of the second group. Of the four guys, see two are already moved back and two are still swimming bacl? Those are the same guys that the boats came closest too.

In pic four above, you can still see the kid in the black tee. I'm trying to find a reference in my shots for the large group on the right in pic 5 above, but still haven't.

Anyway, you can imagine how close they were just by the reference to the kid in the black.
