Single Engine, Full Canopy Boats

Steve Curtis Built a 30' Tandem single canopy. Errol Lanier Had one (He may still have it). The No Limits team from Cali had one..Most where powered through an Arneson Drive. I thought they needed a sterndrive to achieve positive trim. Either way there's a few of them out there and when you finally get it dialed in, it should whip up on the others. it's a cool looking boat also...

Any idea where they are at now?

Dont just have any builder build it though! Even
Laveycraft used Skaterfor thier Canopy!

Lavey will build you one based on the 2750/ 28 EVO.

I didnt hear that they "used Skater" ...maybe.
Curious where you heard that?
Likely they used the same supplier.

Without spending serious money these things will have the optical clarity of a fun house and require correct cleaning or they will haze up quickly.

What happened (According to Peter) is that they asked Skater if they could use a slash for their race boat, a one time deal. Turns out they took it and put it into production.

Peter gave them a splash that fit the Shields shape so they just went and go the plastic on their own.

Anyone know that boat, or anyone in that area of Marathon????

Who's making them? I know you see a lot of Bat Boats and Phantom (and Extreme maybe?) comes to mind as well. Any manufacturers make any one offs? I know Activator made one 27 ft with a full canopy...anyone know of any others like that?

Just curious.

please remember ??? it has to be a dedicated molded hull and deck with a canopy added to the deck,,that is very important, not to miss lead anyone into building a oneoff,,for all the grey liners,,, this has been addressed and will be put in more clear to understand in writing rule book,:USA:

maybe call ben hedrick, he and i were looking at and he learned a lot more about than i did, he might even have the name of the marina,,knowing ben he probably still has the phone number, lol:USA:

Wasn't there a few A boats other than Phantoms with canopys? I think I remeber an add for an Infinity with an Inline canopy.

Also need to get Ben back out racing.

So it must be a boat like the SUperboat 30 Y2K pictured here? But add a canopy configuration to the current cockpit?

I think the Infinity is the one for sale near marathon... Last time I saw it was in 06 when it raced in p4 in key west as Team Bahama. It was blue if I remember correct.

Yep, what do you want to know. It's close to the 7 Mile bridge been sitting for a couple years

Thanks Brooks,

I guess a name and number to talk to and find out what exactly is there, and what they are looking to do with it.....:sifone:

My wife says no buying a race boat until I get rid of at least one. So I figure finding a boat which could be an SVL competitive boat, and trading, would fit the criteria.....:sifone: :26: :sifone:
