I got Bats....Since I don't have a Belfry...They had to go in the Ridgecap...Pretty creepy watching Them Fly out one at a time...

Time for some Expanding Foam.

That’s a big big negative on the Expanding Foam. Build a couple bat houses and set them up around the property. Bats eat mosquitoes like no other. You can thank me later when you are sitting on deck drinking beer and smoking cigar w/o getting eaten alive by mosquitoes.

When me and Heidi where dating, she went to go home and there where three bats in the cabin. She had to crawl out my bedroom window. I pushed the bats out with a broom.

Built a Bat House....Now where to put it...I had it on the side of My House...But it needs more Sun.

Good morning ☀️. Now dig a hole, very easy to dig in cap rock I know. :beatdeadhorse5: Set 4x4 post in hole and mount bat house to it. Seriously, I didn’t know the bat house needs sun.

I read over the plan and I found that I needed a location with:

lots of sun;
at least 15 feet off the ground (to protect against predators); and
ideally a water source nearby (so the mother bat doesn't have to leave her young for too long).
Interestingly, bats are less attracted to bat houses mounted on trees. There's a few reasons for this:

It's too easy for predators to get bats as they exit
The branches causing obstructions to exiting bats which drop down then up into flight
It's too shady from branches above.
Bat houses mounted on buildings retain heat better and are less accessible to predators. You can put them on a pole though. Luckily my townhouse is three stories high and has a sunny side. It's also near a stream. So I felt I probably had a good site.
