Now.. that's some serious offshore boat.

I was up close on one at the NYC boat show about 3 years ago and all I can say is WOW!!!

Then I saw the price and said WOOOOOOOOWWW!!! But it is truly and awsome vessel

From what I was told growing up, the Aqua Riva (wood back then) is the sistership to the Fino. My father owned a Fino from about 73' to the early/mid 80's. It was built at Magnum in Florida and had a two piece mold.

It got looks everywhere we went! Had some 600 hp Flagship Marine Turbo motors in it and ran somewhere in the 60's which was pretty decent back then... When he first got the boat it had small blocks with push-button electronic transmissions... They didn't last long, nor did the small blocks!!! ;)

Rumor has it, the person who owned the boat after us hit a jetty and it sunk somewhere off the Jersey coast.... Dee (lucididee) also survived a capsizing incident in that boat! :leaving: Strong boat, like bull!

There was a Fino for sale a while back down in the Miami area. I think that there was one in the stack at the marina just south of
Spinnaker on US1.

Cool! From what I heard, someone started making them again... I saw one listed for sale not too long ago in LOTO.

About 5-6 years ago when I had my Scarab, my wife and I took the boat up to Norwalk for a 4 day get-away. We were walking thru the marina and off in the distance I see a boat that has the shape of a Riva/Fino, so I walk up to it and lift the cover and see that it's a Fino... It surprised the chit outta me.. Especially considering there was a very limited number of them produced...maybe two dozen or less.

Some old photos I took of a gorgeous Fino owned by Scott Lorenger in the Detroit area. Scott always had the boat out on the Gold Cup race course in Detroit for years. Pair of 427 Chevys on V-drives. One of the sweetest offshore boats I have ever seen. Heard recently that he still has it.
