NJPPC Members = Class Acts

For the second year, we spent some time on the Chesapeake Bay Rendezvous (5 days this year) with a group of 9 visiting boats from the New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club. 7 of these boats were returns from 2008; 2 were new. I can honestly say that it was a pleasure to run with a group that had no compunction to challenge each other, no braggers, and that were happy to work together and watch over each other under all circumstances. Whether it was coordinating a car service for the 2 boats that broke down on the first and last days, modifying the schedule to adapt to weather conditions, helping out at the docks, sharing the bar tabs or helping with luggage, there was nothing but smiles and "Can do" attitude the entire time. THIS is what community and group boating is all about. Thank you, DaveP, the NJPPC Planning Committee, and the members who attended. 300 miles of fun - I'll be smiling for weeks...

Chuck, it was an incredible 5 days. Thanks for being our "resident expert" and thank you for convincing me 3 years ago..."Dave - YA GOTTA COME DOWN HERE!!!" You were so right!!

Let's get together in October and start to plan 2010!

Too late - I already have a 2-page 2010 spreadsheet going. You need to start pressuring members to buy and bring:

1: Bimini tops (or SunShades) :beatdeadhorse5:

2: Swimsuits :drool5:

3: Boarding ladders :banghead:

4: Lexan wineglasses :cheers2:

THEN we'll have some more destinations and options.... :)

First off, thanks to you and Diane for being excellent hosts and tour guides! We couldn't do it without you! Woo-Hoo!
Also a huge thanks to Dave P. and the NJPPC clan for putting this all together!

As for the list:
1: I plan on partying on your boat for the raft-up!:biggrinjester:

2: Got those.

3: See response to #1. :sifone:

4: Need to find plastic Jack Daniels bottles....

That's too funny!!

Billy has one but him and chuck are old farts and can't take the heat! Whenever we go boating together they want to go inside in the AC!

Sounds like a great time dude!

Billy did use his bimini several times, although it had some trouble at speed the first day. I had mine up every day as soon as we finished running, but we were also the only ones staying onboard.

We're slowly demonstrating to the gang that the Bay isn't just about tearing around turning gasoline into noise. There are lots of nice destinations without on-land facilities (bars) that are great just to hang out as a raftup. You just can't do it in August without some shade and a dip in the water. This event will evolve some each year, but, in the end, it has to be tailored to the interests of the participants. DaveP and the NJPPC Planning Committee do a fantastic job. As we learn about more and more options as far as destinations and activities, it will get even better. Personally, I think that it's already one of the premiere performance boat events in the world. I don't think that there is anythng else that's quite the same for low-aggravation and relaxation. I mean - Look at the faces!

(By the way, that is very high-end lingerie on D****P's head. Frank's headgear was far less expensive.)

Rule #1 .......deny deny deny
Rule #2 .......someone produces pictures of you....refer back to rule #1 :)

Deny what? I did NOT identify you in any of the photos. By the way - How is Antny "Two-Toes" doing? Biggest injury of the weekend, and he was stone-cold sober. Figures....
