I was heading to St. Louis going south on I-55. I saw this in between Springfield and St. Louis. What an awesome looking boat! Once again, sorry for the crappy pic, as I was trying to drive and take picture!:ack2:

There is a whole thread about this boat with the V16's. It is Don Onken's new boat in Illinois.

What's so cool about this is... how many times have we seen this exact thing? Nobody can move one of these things without someone spotting it.

I remember a thread several years ago on that other site where someone posted a photo and question about some boat they saw on the highway and in fifteen minutes there were a dozen replies telling where the boat had been and why, where it was going and why, and detailed history of owners and power. It was a mind-bender for me and really opened my eyes to the power of this community and the love we all share for these beasts.

:cheers2:

Anyone can help me with this one?

Why is it that its not tilted is it under 9ft?

They don't have a tilt trailer, and no, it's not under 9 feet (or the legal 8'6"). The real problem with a 12 foot beam is that even tilted, you are still usually not legal as then you are over height (and at 50 foot, usually over length). Basically, you are pulling permits no matter what you do.

Last winter AJ had his Skater up in MI for some work. I was with Straight Jacket when he got a call saying "tell AJ his boat is moving west on I-94." I left an hour later to go snowmobiling, and see a blue 40 Skater and matching tow rig right at the IL/IN border...I called SJ and said "You can call AJ and tell him his boat made it to Illinois..."

Sean if the right trailer mfg makes the tilt trailer you can use a boat up to 12 ft wide and be able to get it to 13.6 tall. As for the length there's no way around that. As for goldigger and my way I have towed both of them and they are 13.6 tall tilted up but I am talking about a different trailer. Lugo Mfg is currently building a tilt for a new 50 turbine skater and it will be 13.6 tall and be a bumper pull. Also the trailer frame rails will be double walled and serve as mobile jet fuel tanks holding two hundred gallons of jet A. Lugo also just finished its first flat cat trailer for a new DCB cat.
