My day from hell!

My day from hell started yesterday.

When it rains it pours.

I got home last night to discover a nice little swamp in my yard with water gushing up from the ground. Fvck!

I turned off the main to the reclaimed water for the irrigation system hoping that would solve it.

Nope. Water still flowing in the yard.

Double Fvck!

I kill the main line at the street to the fresh water.

Bingo. Leak stops.

Triple fvck.

Hugely busy at work, last thing I need is to take a day off, but I have no choice.

I have no drinking water, no shower, no toilet.

Fvck, fvck, fvck!

I investigated today and the old cast iron pipe in the ground had expired. Done. Finished. Never to serve water again.

I ended up having to dig nearly a hundred foot trench to lay new pipe. 80% done, but have to wait until tomorrow to get the permitted guys in here to make the connections. Damn this sucks! What a pain in the ass.

Not to mention it's friggin' Christmas Eve tomorrow. There goes my plans. :(

Look on the bright side. Could have been the sewer backing up and filling your house with poop :ack2:

j/k :)

Hope you get everything back to normal ASAP.

ahhh, the joys of home ownership!

Sorry to hear of your hassles, brother. Tell that Murphy guy to GTFO!
Wishing you and Erin all the best, even if you do smell funny. :ack2:

Yes. I'm overjoyed.

Thanks for the consolations guys! Today's work is done. Went to a neighbor buddy's house and got cleaned up and now I'm enjoying some much needed cocktails. More fun tomorrow.

Cheers!

Pipes that break above freezing temps just don't impress some of us Nick. :)

Just kidding. Sorry about the timing. Merry Christmas anyway.

Dang that sucks Nick.:ack2:

But at least it was gushing up outside instead of inside........:)

Mom just told me yesterday the maddest she ever was at my dad, was one time he refused to call a plumber when the sewer backed up. My sister and her husband happened to be there then. Barb said mom was mad as a hornet.

When I first got out of high school, I worked for a pipeline company. We were putting in gas lines, and broke many of the old clay pipes for sewage. If you drive down Clearwater Beach, you can still see where we cut the roads and driveways to install the gas lines.

The neighbors would be skating. It would look like a Currier and Ives picture. Except the ice would be brown. :o
