Judge: Corps' negligence caused Katrina flooding

The government has been paying to rebuild flooded houses for a long time.. Maybe this will end it. If your are in a flood zone now good luck getting insurance. Those days should be ending soon.

Damn I wish you were right, I really do... but your not and its gonna cost me....

the corp of engineers have decided the dike they built around my hood isnt good enough to protect us from floods (despite the fact that the lake kevel has been going down since the 70's thelast time even minor flooding happened around here) since they dont have the money to fix there dike... they are trying to force us to buy flood insurance.. here is the kicker.. if we by flood insurance from the govt before the force us to, it will be cheaper than after they force us too..

so they are planning on forcing people who dont need it to buy it to pay for katrina etc.... basically govt extortion..

There was an Island wiped by Ike near Galveston. I don't think anyone is allowed to rebuild.

If you get wiped out once I don't think you should be allowed to build again and ultimately get wiped again... I have seen specials where people have rebuilt many times.. We all have been paying all along.

All around the Gulf of Mexico, they've built condos on sandbars, and cry when a hurricane wipes them out. What do you expect when you build on a sandbar. Destin is a good example. When I was a kid, there was absolutely nothing built on the beach. Now it's covered with condos.
