No but you could listen on talkoffshore.com!Sorry I offended you.
You didn't offend me...I'm too old for that nonsense. I helped announce on a talkoffshore a couple of years ago at Point Pleasant and it was fun. Martin has honed his "chops" well over the years and we discussed having me do some Champ Boat races. My schedule is just too tight, which is another reason why I haven't accepted a gig since 2002, and I have had a few offers.
Listen, I get your passion and enthusiasm, we've all been there. The point is, as in much of life and business, never sets your sights too low. If the sport was better in the past, try to find out why and in what areas, instead of dismissing the people who lived it as inconsequential. You might find that optimism of and by itself has little value without a fact based, comparative context. There are major mistakes being repeated year after year in the areas of TV, competition rules, site consistency, and most importantly...safety, that have been crippling to the efforts of the current racers.
You will also find that Brownie and 7x Champ are much easier to deal with and more diplomatic than I am........
I wish you good luck in your season, but reserve the right to pr*ck a few balloons when they get overblown.
By the way the photos below are a few that might change your opinion of what proper boat racing competition might look like.
