Sorry,

After the other avalanche of videos, I couldn't resist ............... :D

What are the chances of you guys unlocking the vaults and posting some clips? You've got to have tons of them. I was watching some old tapes the other night.

Are you going to do re-releases of any of it or is it just what pops up on HORBA now and again?

Make sure Erika Badu doesn't see it or she is liable to walk in front of Ford's theater nekkid:ack2::willy_nilly::rolleyes:

There are limited sources of historic videos from the 80's and 90's..........

Ours included precious interviews (with "iconic" people who are either dead, vastly changed, or will never see the light of day without looking through bars), world wide races, a spontaneous unscripted story line narrated live to tape from the helicopter, and produced with broadcast quality cameras, a proprietary helicopter mount, and top of the line editing equipment, all of which involved a great deal of time , money , and creative effort.......which I am not inclined to give away. We have enough samples on our website to give any potential customer/viewer a good understanding of our product.... Our Apache "Magic throttle arm of Bob Saccenti" footage went viral years ago....and continues to draw views to this day.

The other products had few, if any, interviews, no story line, scripted, voice over narration and were done originally on industrial beta cams.....

We choose not to splash snippets all over the web. It seems kind of desperate to me and doesn't do the footage justice. It also cheapens the overall value of the entire genre. On the other hand times are bad....and this may be a marketing method to drive new sales....... "Drown them with images"? Fortunately, we don't live and die by, or depend on, our video sales for a living..... and ........ very much like Real Estate....they aint making any more Sal Magluta interviews...so the value of our stuff will continue to rise.....unless we let You Tube suck that value out of it.

I guess ...in the end.... you get what you pay for.

Time will tell.....

FWIW, I've been begging Jeff for video clips for about a year. We even helped him figure out how to get them online. The amount of views they get are a testament to their popularity.

I have a box of old Beta tapes- many are Needle Nose titles- that I wish I had on DVD. Actually, I just wish I had a decent Beta machine I wasn't worried about getting the tapes eaten up in. And I do have all the stuff offered through HORBA. I understand I may be in the minority and that it may not be economically feasible to transfer these to DVD for the 10 sales you might get. But if and when you do, I'll buy them and help you sell the rest.

As far as anyone being desperate- Jeff is offering samples from some of his tapes. If that helps him sell the tapes, so much the better. I don't think Jeff is any more or less desperate than anyone in this industry right now. I'm glad guys like Jeff and Jay and Tim and Pete and all the others are still out there doing what they do. And I appreciate them showing their wares on here and allowing everyone a glimpse at what's going on at events they can't attend. And if we can support them, we certainly will. Because if these guys go away, we all lose.

.

For the record we already have them all mastered to DVD............. Darren has a fully equipped editing studio in his house.

We also have an entirely different collection of OPC, Inboard, Stock Outboard, and Offshore (Great Lakes and Pacific) races which represents Mike St Amond's complete set of masters and working tapes. We haven't begun to even review and/or catalogue these.
