just went for my last ride of the season.

Yes sir you do have it running, we saw the cloud of dust and cobwebs when you passed the inn the first time:cheers2:

Uh huh - and not having that alternator belt didn't keep the throttle back at all - was stittin on the porch when you guys "flew" back up river!

Ross , nice T Shirt.....BTW what is your home town?

Houston (Channelview) - on the San Jacinto River - just a mile or so north of I-10. We can go to the Lake Houston damn and catch croppie - sit at the house and catch Speckled Trout and Red's - or run offshore and have your pick. And if all else fails pack everything up and head to Lake Charles for a little gamblin and Captain Morgan!

Nice, I haven't explored Texas yet. I have lived here 3 years and have only been boating in Travis and Possum Kingdom.

It was interesting, I had the voltage displayed on my gps. at 3600 or less it held steady at 11.5 volts, when I got up to 5k or more rpms's the msd and fuel pump pulled the voltage down to 11 on two optima's, if I slowed down it would come back up to 11.3.

We got back to the ramp showing 10.9 volts, never missed a beat.

The alternator bushing has gotten worn and was letting the alternator wobble at higher rpm's which led to the belt rolling over and shredding.

Belt came off at Morgans point so I never made it to Clear Lake, the bay looked like it was going to be a fun ride.

You have an open invitation!!! And if you can get that other frikkin diesel of mine to spool up to 3800 - I'll even pay for the trip LOL!! Damn swedes .....

You should come down to the Shoot Out next year - assuming they try it again - seems we have the worst luck with weather on that weekend.

And think how much more gas money

And insurance, storage, repairs, maintenance yadda yadda yadda..:ack2:

I'll join the rest of the "creekers" and move south when I'm old and withered!:seeya:

In the meantime, ya'll enjoy the winter down south, I'm sure we'll hear about it! ;)

Thanks, I'll keep in touch...Sorry no diesels for me.

My boat has been winterized for a couple weeks. I have moved onto thinking about snowmobiling. If I get the itch to do some boating this winter its only a 2.5 hour flight to my folks place in FL. My dad just bought a new CC this past thursday.

Sweet, so when we get sick of snowmobiling we're flying down there for a weekend this year!:biggrinjester:

I'm off the lift and on the trailer sitting in storage but still not fully winterized (fluids/filters changed but no anti-freeze yet). I'm still holding out hope for another river run if the weather cooperates. Took off last Tuesday and ran 156 miles on the Illinois. Saw three bald eagles. Trees are at about the peak of color so it was a scenic trip.
