Heard LA boat show is toast next year (rumor at this point). Last year they cut it down to a 3 day deal and may have given up a whole floor of the convention center over the prior year. Bummer.

Toronto in water boat show CANCELLED due to lack of participants.
Announced today that the show, after 16 yrs was officially cancelled because the promoter could not secure enough venders to cover the costs.
Not a good sign at all.
Largest event here now is the Gay Pride Parade
There is a vendor there that claims he sells more rope than the Boat Show.
Stands on the sidewalk yelling " Do you want to see my knots" all day.

Regional boat shows seem to be going the way of the trade show. (Remember those?) It is unfortunate, but the market bears what it can.
For those of you who haven't been, the Miami Boat Show is worth your time. The displays are impressive, you talk to anyone from Randy Scism to Reggie Fountain, and if (OK, when) you get bored you can head for South Beach.
But keep in mind that South Beach, is like Vegas, a two-night town. After that, run.

He is huge and goes about 250 easy. We were in NY this summer and staying at the same hotel where the NAACP convention was being held. Yes, we even caught a glimpse of Obama after his speech. Anyway, my son and I were standing just outside the front door of the hotel when Jackson walked right past us. We looked at each other like "Holy !$$!$!@$^, he's humongous!" Never knew it.
