1 If everyone here from SOS showed up with all their privately owned boats and we had a flotilla end to end ...how long ( in feet ) would our parade be ?

2 From all the pics youv'e seen on here of members boats ...what is the ONE most predominent favorite colour people lean to??
With multi coloured paint jobs list ONE ONLY main colour.

Well, there are almost 3500 members, and probably 90 percent have boats and the average beam is 8'. Between 4.5-5 miles.

White is definitely the most common boat color.

3500 members (Average length of 30' would be my guess): 105,000 feet in boats = 19.88 miles
Now add 20' between each boat: 70,000 feet = 13.26 miles

Overall flotilla length would be: 33.14 miles

Wow!

red or yellow

a. Some members have multiple boats so I'm going with an average of 1 for each member. Total feet, 108,800 (3400 members x 32' average)

a. Yellow #1 most prominant color.

What did I win????:sifone:

An 8' tape measure.
You are our go-to guy when we actually do this:)

I bet the average is 25-28 feet
27' x 3500 = 94,500 feet or 17.9 miles.

Most popular color other than white seems to be yellow.

Or float? ;)

Boat
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A boat is a watercraft of modest size designed to float or plane on water, and provide lift over it. Usually this water will be inland (lakes) or in protected coastal areas. However, boats such as the whaleboat were designed to be operated from a ship in an offshore environment. In naval terms, a boat is something small enough to be carried aboard another vessel (a ship). Some boats too large for the naval definition include the Great Lakes freighter, riverboat, narrowboat and ferryboat.

Submarines can also be called boats, despite their underwater capabilities and size. This may be because the first submarines could be carried by a ship and were not capable of making independent offshore passages. Boats may be used by the military or other government interests, or for research or commercial purposes; but regardless of size, a vessel in private, non-commercial usage is almost certainly a boat. In the Royal Navy, a boat is any submersible, whilst a ship is anything above water, even a rowing boat.

Looks like submarines are also boats, so technically doesn't have to float I guess.
