Reminds me of evrytime I raced there. Both times 50` Cat Superboats Team USA and Popeyes Goetz boat. I remember going out between the Getties and taking a few over the bow before getting on plane, That lake has the trickiest waters of any place I have ever raced. At least the last time I raced 1988 in the Popeyes 50` Cat with Stan Ware driving we won the race against some pretty healthey Apache superboats, we had our hands full and it`s a good thing we had the wave deflector built in to the deck as I`m sure it saved our lives on many occasions. The Team USA boat I raced in 89 broke both power steering pumps so we had a DNF. BAD WATERS

Todd, We were driving by the beach the other day and saw the truck sticking out of the garage. I didn't realize you were by the state park. I thought you were on the other side of the channel.

Nice place!

I'm glad you said what you did about Lake Michigan, Ritchie. As I read a lot of posts on here and that "other" offshore site, it seems that some people just consider Lake Michigan some little pond and that it can't compare to the ocean. You lend credibility to the fact that it can be very wicked!

Saccenti made the same comment regarding Lake Erie!

Unless you've boated in the Great Lakes, you really have no idea how nasty it can really get at times, and quick!
