used stuff from a rerig he did...good stuff for now. considering next winter is a complete rerig. On a side thought, looking towards next off seasons work, how much setback should this thing need?? motor will probably be something like a 300 optimax or similiar.

spent the morning in the bilge detanglling the rats nest, tomorrow comes the real pressure (washer). Good god, I dont think there was one seal or gasket on that guys motor that worked, there is oil and grease everywhere. Im really hoping that when I plug the new motor in to the big plug averything works or isnt too far off. I pulled the alternator. power steering pump still hooked to the bracket with a few cut wires out of the bilge, same with the distributor and coil. Im thinking the cut up stuff SHOULD be part of the engine wiring harness so the new motor comes wired and I shouldnt have to many unsolved mysteries....

On a serious note, I had great luck with awlgrip in the bilge on mine. It has held up well. Goes in smooth with a small roller and small trim brushes.

All you need is the temp gauge and the gas gauge.....everything else is for girly men and people of low moral character

That's where an I/O boat converted to outboards comes in handy

I found a decent complete except exhaust manifolds (wihich I have) 454 for $2400 in cleveland. I will probably pick it up friday. Thru 3100 pounds and 330 hp into the bam speed calculater. It spit out 75 mph.. probably a littlle optimistic, but a solid 70 would be nice....
Started cleaning the interior today.... soft scrub and a magic erasor didn't touch it, ended up using a scrubber sponge and laquer thinner, the soft scrub, got half of it done, not exactly new looking but a huge difference.P-4077 "The Swamp" S.B.Y.C. and Michigan medboat mothership

You will need to add external steering to your wish list. Keep your eye out for a cylinder and matching rear cover.
Things seem to be progressing well. Keep up the good work.
