This past weekend, our son and I went to the 31st annual Florida International Air Show,
right here in my little town, at our small county airport.
Our honored guests included a historic "commemorative gathering" of 3 of the 5 reaming
Doolittle Tokyo Raiders, and special guests representing the People's Republic of China.
The event was a time to honor those that gave so much for you and I to be free. We celebrated
the designers, builders and those who served with these aircraft.
This event also raised money for a number of local charities, plus the "Disabled American Veterans"
and the "make a wish foundation"
The flying portion included the following aircraft and original designers/developers
the American flag flow in by parachute, with the singing of our National Anthem
P-51 Mustang (North American Aviation)
F-16 Fighting Falcon (General Dynamics)
A-10 Thunderbolt II (Fairchild-Republic)
F-22 Raptor ATF (Lockheed)
Otto, the helicopter and the "Veterans - God bless the USA" banner
Jet dragster vs. airplane
WARBIRDS:
B-25 Mitchell "Panchito" Pacific theater version (North American Aviation)
B-25 Mitchell European theater version (North American Aviation)
F4U Corsair (Chance Vought)
Feature Act, the Heavy Metal Jets" team
Areo L-39 Albatros (Czechoslovakia, Aero Vodochody)
You may recognize these as being in several Hollywood films, sometimes as Soviet aggressors.
They also bear a striking resemblance to the Douglas A-4F Skyhawk, which entered service in
1954, and was flown by our very own Blue Angles from 1964 to 1986.
Please remember to thank a Vet, and if you can support charities that do so much good.

Yes, been lots of fun this season. I did check out that lens rental company, but I got busy with the office, and then it was to late. I am keeping my eyes open for a deal on a EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM, perhaps refurbished or used and recently serviced, we will see.
It was very cool, and the 3 Doolittle Raiders flyers, were deserving of our honor and thanks.
They set up some pyro which was set off as they made 'bombing' runs. They did have fire dept people and equiptment on the grass.
The 'glass' I used was the Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS, it is very good, consumer glass, down the road I will be upgrading to professional "L" series glass. It is not in this years budget, but the 'pro' photo bug has gotten me.
