a pump gas towing 454 that makes that TQ at 2,000 and that much HP at 6,000???
what cam and heads and intake?
if you told me 3,000 rpm on the TQ i'd probably start to believe it, but 2,000.... nope.. not with a natural aspirated pump gas 454 with ANY head...
a 454 with a Whipple is hard pressed to do that..
look at the 572/620 dyno charts for comparison... 118 more cubes, alum heads... BIG carb and intake.. headers... before and after mod's...
sorry, and totally respectfully here, I think it's just not gonna happen.. those numbers don't make sense.... why carry it out to 11,000 rpm? where are the A/F charts?

No, I really do not have any noise, but have had to replace Tie rods, 3 intermediate steering shats, control arms, steering gear boat, power steering pump, Hydro boost pump, tranny cooler lines sever times...and so on...
GM says my steering issues are from those monster 33" tires I have...yeah right! I think that GM built the front ends OK for gas trucks, but can't handle the weight of the Dmax/Allison combo...

In all fairness, that seems like an incredibly high amount of torque at a very low rpm. As I said, I am not an engine builder or an expert on Dyno's or their operation so I can not answer your questions, defend these results, or will I even try. You obviously must have a lifetime of experience as a professional custom engine builder to possess the knowledge of all combinations and all things possible. I will just stay within the realm of what I know. I know that I have no idea what combination of pistons, cam, heads, porting, boring, stroking or any other means of achieving these results he uses. I know I don't care. I know that just because one person can't do something does not mean another is not "smart enough" to make it happen. I know that he is a good friend of mine and a talented professional engine builder that has no reason to bull**** me or create a bogus Dyno report. I know that trying to compare specs from a production built crate race motor to a "purpose built" custom engine does not make any sense to me. I know that if his combination can produce ANYWHERE NEAR what that Dyno says, I will be a HAPPY CAMPER. I know that I am not the type to post B.S. just to try to impress people. With that being said, I know that I (very respectfully) really don't care what you think. I know how these types of "pizzing match" discussions always end up and I have no intention of doing that, so, I also know that I am done & it was nice chatting with you. MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Mine is an 06, had the same running gear as your 03. I have some friends with 08's and 09's, all appear to be the same. And gov't motors wonders why they are not doing so good!!! Don't get me wrong, I love my truck, but these rediculous mexican parts are unexcuseable...

Wow Bill, that sux. I have had only one issue with my 2005. It was a clunking noise coming from the steering column. The intermediate shaft was replaced under warranty (see link) and all has been good ever since. I guess the front ends must be sensitive to any changes (taller tires / lift kits). I have stock tires/height (I know, boring) and it seems to handle the Dmax/Allison combo just fine.
