It was either pink or that color. I hope that I don't regret it.

Hi Tony. I haven't given up. We are basically done, but had a small setback and are working on it as fast as possible. Everything points to wrapping it up any day. You know how totally custom stuff can be. You have to put all the systems together to really debug them.
Why don't we both get em done and then we can put them away with all the parts on them for a change?

My favorite PIB trip ever was at the end of September, so what the heck. I'll drop that puppy in wherever there is enough water. And as long as there is no ice. I went to PIB (by boat) in a Carhartt once.

Its hard to drink when your upside down wedged beteen a bulkhead full of trim/fuel pumps and an engine block. Hence why no work is getting done.

They had to get a little person to bolt my engines in. I stopped at the shop and there was this like 5 foot five, 125 pounder in there. He said if he gained 5 pounds we would need a smaller bolt turner.
So they are in the boat and it runs and all that. I think that one carb needs adjustment.
I predict a wet boat bottom when the weather improves at the end of the week.

Seems like a large group of Pirates will be between PIB and Kelleys this weekend. Weather permitting, I'm planning on doing a shakedown run tomorrow then heading up Sat afternoon.

Im trying to get things together at work so I can do shakedowns Weds and Thurs and if they go right, cruise around Friday and the weekend. Don't want to get too crazy during the break-ins. The weather is supposed to be really good and the lake is supposed to behave. This is one week that I don't mind flat water because I don't want to have to throttle alot during break-ins.

Better yet, leave the hatch off for the first few times out and take a few extra sets of eyes and hands with you. Along with a bucket of tools, a timing light, and an IR laser thermometer.

    Better yet, take the builder.

My plan is to stay close to home at first. The water is so low here (1-3 feet in many places) and my depth sounder isn't in. I figure that I will stay in channels. I can go from Toledo to Detroit and back in the shipping channels without worrying about running aground and I can stage the trailer at Bolles in between the two farthest points.

Heck, my plan is to make sure it works well at 1 mph before I even plane the thing. We threw on new forward shift cables as a good measure this week. Been sitting for years and not shifting well. We had done the intermediate cables when the transom assemblies were accessible. Good thing cause the shift bellows were bad.

Barring a catastrophe, or any other really bad thing, I should get some color cruising in.

Thanks Ian. Will do. (In fact, I may be obsessive with my gauge watching. I even watch the gauges on other boats.)

I think that I may have a serious problem.
Seeing the boat sitting there, done, ready for the lake, full of fuel.

Made me think about looking for another project.
