amen about the BS speeds.... when ever someone tells me a speed I automatically deduct 5-7 mph until proven otherwise and up to 10 depending on the person... I must have a fast 86+87 mph boat!

Except MM..I have been on his boat in Florida @ 96 mph and I think they were the 750's,but, I could be wrong. I know he has different sets of motors and not sure which ones were in there.

Haha, I know what you mean. A 5mph jump on a heavy straight bottom while in smoother water ain't happenin, and I don't know why anyone would suggest that, but they do it ALL the time! I'm definitely talkin REAL numbers with ya.

We ran exactly 100mph to the DOT, in Parnell's Saber 41 on Lake Michigan a few years ago. It had no cabin, and a 5 man cockpit, running Chief 950's & full staggered 6's. I know it's not an "APACHE" by name, but being the exact some boat, it's good for a reference point.

I also rode in the 41 Saber "WickedWon" when Jim still owned it, which is when it was the fastest, & dialed in the best. It had 1350 Sterlings fully staggered on 6's, and we ran 113mph in the Smoke on the Water poker run.

So one day back in June... I am standing on Rob's boat, and we get rafted up against this yellow 41 Saber.

Is Dan the guy that used to own a 28' Saber, Yellow/black stripe back around '95 - boat was named "Buzzin' By(e)" or something like that.
It used to put in at my marina in Rossford regularly and I remember seeing what a sharp set-up that was. I recall talking to the owner a few times, and just not sure if that name sticks, or if I have fewer brain cells now...

Sorry, didn't mean to Hi-Jack in the APACHE section, just always wondered whatever happened to that boat.
