12-30-2009 10:53 PMI think the bridge is named after Rockefeller. I'll ask my dad what road it is.

12-30-2009 11:01 PMI cut through West Virginia last summer driving home from Cedar Point (roller coaster park in Sandusky, Ohio) and have never seen so much road kill. Must have passed 20-30 dead deer in one day!

12-30-2009 11:20 PMDad said he never saw a deer once while growing up. They had deer season closed from sometime in the 1920's until sometime in the 1990's. The country boys killed them to eat. Dad said he had fresh meat once a year when they killed a hog, otherwise it was salted meat (no refridgeration).

That bridge, I've always wondered about.
It's at approx. the same height as 80/90, and way to high for the need for a swing bridge in that shallow water (maybe 10-12 feet at best). And then of course 80/90 is fixed, and past 80/90 it quickly goes down to 8' and then 5 foot of water. If you're heading down to P-burg (used to head down there occasionally and walk up to the bars (CASA BARON, John?)), you have to kind of snake through some areas that may be as little as 3' of water, and that's about as far West as you'd ever attempt to travel on that section of the river."Keep the bottle on the bar Ira, I won't be long".
