07-15-2016 08:16 AMI'm sure it will be exactly like before, Libya, Iraq, Syria etc. for Hillary and Obama. Their policies had nothing to do with it. They didn't originally arm ISIS to overthrow Syria. They didn't pull out of Iraq to let ISIS take over a major part of the country and capture huge stockpiles of the weapons we left there when we withdrew. They didn't bomb Libya so ISIS had another country they could move into and plan attacks and train from. And on and on.....

Anybody else keep thinking about the lanier accident? I find myself returning to it in my mind and thinking of those who passed and their loved ones.
I also think of the Skater and Statement folks. It's such a small world at that level.
This remains true: If I wanted to go faster than my old V hull can go, I would want to be in a Skater.

07-16-2016 11:24 PMWhen I think about things like that always come back to one conclusion. We all put ourselves in danger when we run at high speeds in cars, boats, and other toys. I know it, and still do it all of the time. If I ever go in an accident because of my speed passion, I hope it is only me, or people with me who have the same passion and understand the danger that exists. My biggest fear is being in a situation where a car or boat has a mechanical issue and takes out a bystander. That is the main reason I always try to make sure my distances from others is a safe distance.

The guy who rides with me each year for Boyne Thunder was involved in the fatal accident during Smoke on the Water years ago. He loves the PQ, big and slow. This weekends misfortune at Lanier makes me respect all the boats at Boyne Thunder for turning around. All but a couple Marshall boats were left on the course and there was no way they would have any safety support.

Went out this morning for a run and after a few miles at around 50-55mph my starboard tach started bouncing high and low sort of wildly. Good/normal oil pressure of around 60, normal temp of around 180, normal fuel pressure around 6. (All identical to the port engine.) Then it started running rough so I shut it down, but it starts. Doesn't really want to idle though, and it has been the king of idle.
Should I be thinking spark/ignition system? I wonder if my MSD box is pooping out or something? Boats been running great and this came on all of a sudden but all other vital signs are good.
Sound like anything you've dealt with?
