So far we are still a go for the 18th. I am taking the boat tomorrow to the guy installing the extra tank (John Cogan @ Concept Marine) and should have it back tomorrow night. Then on thursday I will fill the tanks so that we can run 50 miles and get a read on fuel burn. Other than that we are ready to go.
Also if someone turns me on to a sponsor I will give you back 10% finders fee

I have two more days of working on the boat and then its ready. I had something break during testing but it is fixed now. I hope to have the boat doing the run within the next two weeks. I promise to keep everyone updated

I got the boat back from the mechanics last night and it is ready to go. spoke to bob last night and he is flying down saturday so we can test the boat on sunday. If all goes well the weather service we hired will give us an answer on sunday and if thats good we will make the run on tuesday morning.

mounting a half dozen go pro cameras around the boat on sunday to get different angles for the run, plus have a plane in frisco to film going under the bridge and a helo to follow the boat from santa barbara to long beach

Wendsday morning Bob Russell will be taking off from the Golden Gate Bridge heading for long beach to break an old record set by Bob Norskog in a gasoline powered boat. He will be using his 51ft Outerlimits Cat Powered by Sterling Performance Engines. The old record of 6 hours should be taken down if everything goes according to plan which is never easy in a high performance boat. He hopes to make the run in a little over 4 1/2 hours running nonstop for 435 miles. We should be down at the long beach yard house by lunch time.
