I know that the east coast got it much worse, but dam near the Indiana line, we now have no gas service due to a power outage caused by a tree limb at a pumping/transfer station. All this distance inland... and still no hot water, no heat.

Talked with Randy today. He's okay, lost the roof of his shop. Bruce is fine too. They had just got a generator working so he had some power, but there are no parts available to fix anything anywhere.

From beginning to the end, the entire Jersey Shore was devoured by Sandy.

It's just so devastating to see it all gone. My mom is ok, but my sister's house got flooded out.

Checkin in... we weathered the storm well. never lost power at home or my shop. lost internet and phone at shop. So, im working from home.
Production is at a dead stop though, because suppliers cant get material to me and my guys cant get here or have no power at their homes.
putting up a friend and his family who lost power. its tight but warm. (1BR condo)
was in NY yesterday early am, and traffic was light. Traveling east on 40th street. everything to my south was dark, everything north all lit up.
another thing which was erie sight. Not a single plane on the tarmac at newark airport.

cell phone service is in/out depending where you are. At my shop i have good cell service at home its non existant. and im only 1 mile from my shop.

the footage of the jersey shore is amazing. there is a new inlet cut in just south of point pleasant at the foot of the mantoloking bridge.
this cleanup and rebuild will take years, not months. especially with winter coming. the economic impact for businesses down there will be devastating for most.

Have not heard from them. considering their locations, I would think they got flooded at the very least. I would imagine smittys shop and yard was underwater. Smittys shop, is at the very inland location from where that new inlet was cut in.

As far as my family .... Mom is just without power in Red Bank, but my sis in Lower Bank had about 4'+ water in the house.

    Have not spoken with Augie.

Val faired well with his garage taking on most of the flooding.

Smitty said as far as the shop, it held up pretty well. As far as his house, he had about 6' of water. Seems Anthony may have been hit the hardest of all the racers. My heart goes out to him with loosing everything

Another thing, maybe someone else can answer this:

Why the heck are they out of gas? Aren't there about a thousand tanker trucks around within a days drive that could haul in fuel and put it into the cars themselves instead of the tank in the ground where there is no power? That's how the army does it in the field!!!!

I felt they should have had the marathon. NY will loose a lot of revenue by cancelling the event.

They have to start rationing it. It's beyond unsafe to pump gas into cars & gas cans straight from the tankers.

I don't know how they're gonna do the walk ups, but the rule is Odd numbered plates are odd # days... Even # plates are even days... Vanity plates are considered as ODD#...
