I disagree. Like I said before, if you want to own something 'different' be prepared for someone to not like it. My father was goo at this. He'd wawnt a boat and look past everything else. He wanted a Scarab III, so he bought a grossly underpowered one that was white with orange stripes. He pulls up to the dock and I'm trying to wave him off. He forgot to mention the previous jerk-off named it Pelican Express. It had pelicans all over it, on the sides of the radar arch, everywhere.

So he gets them painted over and changes the name to Bear's Express (his nickname).

Small effort to offset real ugliness. He probably could've waited and had a nicer looking boat with more power.

So then he decides he wants something more economical. And buys what can only be descrbed as "the battleship". It was a grey and black wellcraft Nova spyder. He thought it was the shiz-nit. He finally got some amateur painter to make it white. And for a palty $300 more, he put the gayest spider web with a red spider decal on the sides. So now it hangs, inoperative behind the house waiting for someone to rescue it.

So if there is more attention given to calling people out for their visually-impaired vessels, maybe fewer will buy them. and maybe my father will stop giving a market to albatross boats.

I do agree. At least we got to go boating when many others couldn't. But still, with the cake he was making and a little more patience, he "could've been a contender."

When that boat was for sale a few years ago I considered it. The boat appeared to be in very good condition. My budget couldn't afford a major mechanical issue and a paint job so I passed on it.

WOW! never knew they built anything like that I have seen alot of the 24s but never one of them.
Good find for this thread though, if it weren't for the paint it would be a very interesting boat.
