when you do get to LA, look for a taco stand roberto's, jaunbertos, jaunitas, sombreros etc. it will look like a sh!thole probably..anyways walk up and order a carne asada burrito, con queso, con creama, mucho pico and enjoy! ask for lime and squeeze lime on it before each bite

01-06-2009 09:15 AMYour expo tickets will also get you into the CES show so if you want to go check that out then you can see some cool stuff. The car stereo is ussually in the same building and the home electronics are all over town. If you go to a place called Alexis Park you can see some of the most high end stuff around.

Dang, wish I'd been on line over the weekend. I would have thrown down the gauntlet! Old Pink Flamingo on Allen to Crazy Girls on Sunset in 38 hours... Two guys, two cases of Iron City tall boys and a 1996 Impala SS. Yee haw. Pearl, pm me when you get into town if you want to grab a beer and say howdy.

so, we just got into Gallop, not quite as bad as shamrock, there is a casino ten miles down the road, so that is a way to kill the night at least. stopped at the cadillac ranch in amarillo today which was really cool, but the weather was f'in freezing. then we stopped at the aquarium in albuquerque which was fine. not a bad drive today, went from nice and warm to freezing cold a couple times. just about to go out to dinner, so I'll post some pics when we get back.

A bit of a hike from HB, but I work in LA (downtown) a few days each week and that's not far at all. I spent so much time at the Ol' Pink between 1992 and 1994 that most people thought I worked there! Mostly hung out up front with Mike and Dennis. Started going there when I started getting thrown out of the Brick Bar every week!

well, we went out to dinner at the place earls, good food, but there were Indian kids trying to sell us blankets and sh!t while we ate. went to the Indian casino down the road, my god, we were the only two white people in there, and they did not even have any table games, only slots. stayed for five minutes and left, I would rather have a crown and coke in the hotel room then be there.
here are some pics from the day, first two are the Cadillac ranch. then the third is somewhere between Albuquerque and Gallup. of every state we have been through, NM had by far the coolest scenery with all the plateau's and valleys. really cool.
I am definitely ready to get to Vegas and LA and be done with small towns and cars. thank god I am flying back to buffalo.
