Yeah, but that is just because he has one of each in his yard.

that's nice, but only if there's big dock surrounded by water in the backyard also.
anyone know what this is, other than a bad idea. Looks like formula / chriscraft / Baja platform to me. The interior screams formula, the. cockpit, 80's Baja,
the split swim steps look like Donzi / Carrera. The dash really stumps me
Gonna try to get the HIN , not sure where I'm go w/it. I'm gonna try to attach the ebay listing (thats a longshot) if it doesn't work. the seller id is, much-stuff -little-condo. ebay motors / boats /other if someone wants to take a shot. (it didn't work)

A couple of Chris Craft looking features. Couple Formula.
But I think that the side lights on the Chris Crafts were below the deck.
Gonna need a HIN. For grins, I am guessing 1978.

I was going to guess Celebrity...but there appears to be a Checkmate logo above the cabin door.
I looked for an hour and didn't even see this boat.Parabellum FJ²B

09-01-2012 05:15 PMSee, nobody needs me.
It has to be between an 89 and 92 251/253 Checkmate Convincer. If you're interested, have him send you the HIN as said. It has to be there during those years.
I bet the Checkmate guys on their forum could tell you the year and model. The only difference I know of visually is the number of those little porthole windows. But that may have also been a model difference, instead of a year difference.
I think Fund is spot-on on the condition of the package!Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

Agreed, Fund is right about the condition. It would take a labor of love, and a mental illness to tackle that project.
I like these "what is it" threads. Kinda fun.

Further "Convince"ing
I knew there was a reason I recognized this model...
Not "the" boat in question, but same model.

Jim later bought the Sonic that jumped off the trailer while it was being transported to him (there is a thread around here about it).
Funny, I now live only a few miles from where we met up with the guy with the Checkmate when Jim was buying it."Keep the bottle on the bar Ira, I won't be long".

I dunno Fund, I thought a $100 mexican detail ,a couple bottles of naval jelly, a little as seen on tv magic vinyl repair w/iron on graining options,a gallon of semi - fresh gas and a couple down on their luck ghetto strippers, and I'd be ready to jump some wakes! gonna need a 5th opinion.

HA! HA! Ratickle, funny the way you put the last line. I've been talking to the "chick" that listed the "package" On more than one occasion she has bashed the boat owners "package"
I.E.,my #ickless x husbands boat. Jobless,babysitter banging,credit destroying,non-child support paying,house african-americanizing,#ickless toothless,#ickless (then she took a breath) son of a Michigan ghetto crack-head prostitute,#ickless,scum sucking pig,penile implant candidate posterchild #ickless man I loves boat.
But other than that he's a wonderful man.
She sounds like a nice girl, maybe a little pissed.
$ounds to me like their gonna get back together. But that's just my opinion.o_OLast edited by TUCK646; 09-03-2012 at 11:45 AM. Reason: more clairity
